The crashing turning in quests problem only happens in Ratchet. Everytime I turn in a quest there, I crash after 2 or 3 turn ins. So it's a pain to do quests there on alts.
I tried again playing my alt in Ashenvale. I clocked it. It took me 4 minutes from the time I logged in to the time it froze. Wasn't bandaging, crafting, etc. Was just looking around.
Would a reformat help or is it something worse? I tried using the WoW repair ability, I tried updating my video card driver and my DirectX driver, I scanned for viruses, trojans, and spyware, I tried a couple of fixes on WoW tech forums, nothing has fixed it.

If that comes out nil, I'd reinstall the game and see if that fixes your problem.

I deleted the WTF and WDB folders last night, and that fixed the problem. I then spent 20 mins resetting all my preferences and macros. So all is well, right?
Wrong.
This morning I log in, and after about 4 minutes I freeze while playing my main in mid-air on the way to Orgrimmar.
I get a BSoD but it disappears before I can read it.

If your system is automatically rebooting and the BSOD flashes by, disable automatic restart in Windows so it stops at the Blue Screen so you can see what error message or what driver file is being indicated.
Control Panel -> System -> Advanced Tab -> Startup and Recovery section -> Settings
Uncheck automatic restart.
If it seemed fine after resetting your preferences and config, you might want to try removing the folders again to make sure that really fixed it.
If you're still being disconnected in Ratchet, try the steps here, particularly the Checksum Offload for your network card if it's supported.

Interesting choice.
I hope they add the High Elves in a later expansion, but it wasn't going to happen with the Blood Elves.
Also, I hope we see another class or two in the next expansion.

Yeah, personally, I rather have new classes than new races.
Now that the biggie from E3 has been officially announced, Blizz needs to get moving and put the Test realm back up for 1.11!!

I also never really could get into the horde only because I hate the layout of the cities and I just found it boring early on. Who knows maybe I will come back one of these days. I need to find people to level with though. It is one of the reasons I stopped before. I am tempted whenever I hear a new server open but then again it is still a matter of luck finding a good select group to play with.

As for the pvp aspect. We protect our members. We have started Many Many wars because a high level was camping a low level.. I mean 6 hour long pvp wars with the alliance.
You will hate getting ganked at first, but then it will just fuel your leveling so you can gank them back. It is awesome when you hit 60 and start doing some ganking of your own haha

Stay away from PVP servers. I was on one once and I got tired of repeatedly getting killed by level 50+ Rogues that show up out of nowhere. I got up to level 35, and had enough with it.
My friend said PVE servers are boring, he was wrong. My PVE server has a huge PVP following. It's very rare to see someone without a rank. There are raids everyday, and you can choose to participate or go on your way, no worries of getting ganked.

It's not like you can't pvp on pve servers. PvP servers only brings griefing imo. There are always lv60s who think its fun to camp ppl 30 levels below them. Battlegrounds is where true pvp is, as people are closer to each other level-wise. Its only gear and skill that separates them really. This is just my opinion tho :P

PvP has it's ups and downs. Getting ganked and cc'd while trying to buy ice cream for your orphan in the Shimmering Flats = fucking annoying. Getting a guild raid together and wiping the town of South Shore off the map = priceless.
