Who here actually finished Ninja Gaiden(Xbox)??

I had Ninja Gaiden a few months back.....I got to the 5 or 6th stage and just got very very frustrated and sold it on the exchange board. Well lately I have been disappointed in myself for giving up too early...so I saw it at a local pawn shop for just 10 bucks. I bought it again and I am going to try to finish it. Just wanted to see who here actually has finished the game. Please don't say "It really isn't that hard". Yes it is .

I beat it shortly after it came out, and BTW, it wasn't that hard.

not even close. I got about 3/5 of the way through and then realized I had been mainly button-mashing my way and couldn't block for shit. I rented it recently to give it a shot and I was even worse. Maybe I could beat it if I get stranded on an island or go to white-collar prison or something.

I for one wasn't able to finish it. I was stuck in the boss fight against the "dragonhead" that comes in and out of a tunnel. I got rid of the game and now I am waiting for the newer (hopefully better) version Ninja Gaiden Black. :-(

I picked it up for really cheap and regret it, only because news of Black came out soon after. I finished it but it took weeks of playing. It's a really rewarding game, I love it. And despite how hard the bosses are...there is always a pattern.

I beat it within a week of getting it. It's just one of those games you die and retry until you get it right. Wasn't impossible, but I dare not try the hardest setting.

Beat it just fine, really breezed through it, which made me laugh at the end since I hadn't been hitting message boards (too addicted to playing it) and saw the massive amount of whining going on. Get blocking down , really can't stress this enough, but at the same time don't stand around, counterattack, do aerial dives, attack whenever you see a chance.

I got to the end boss, fought him once and decided I didn't care enough about seeing the ending to waste a week of evenings fighting him. Fun game though.

Which boss? The last one or the one after that?

Normal wasn't too bad. But Very Hard, that was a challenge. I don't think I will ever curse at a game like that again.

Well I got home last night with my "re-bought" Ninja Gaiden.....and to my surprise I was better this time around. I am at stage 5 now...which is one stage more than I got before. One thing I absolutely cannot believe is the Demon Horseman boss....last time I had the game it probably took me 25 times to beat him --- this time I beat him on my third try!! I couldn't believe it. I guess the first time I had the game I didn't use the ultimate techniques enough. Those black bomb throwing ninjas on stage 4 and 5 are still giving me one hell of a time.....any tips for beating them??

Those bomb ninjas are definitely some of the most frustrating enemies due to their speed and difficulty at such a low level (though the first boss had me really mad for awhile). Pretty sure you can still block the bombs like any other attack, but make sure you check where the bombs land since they can still hurt you. Don't be afraid to use your immolation attack or the other one when they come at you. Takes 'em down a lot faster -- especially when there's 3 or more.

The thing is, with the exception of some bosses, you can actually block nearly every attack in the game. You just have to time it right - playing it safe is slow sometimes, but it works. As for me, I beat the final boss, but got stuck trying to get out of the cave on time -- big whoop. Haven't played for awhile. I'll be firing it up again pretty soon though. Think I last stopped fighting that demon woman in the cathedral on the Hurricane pack version.

btw -- the swallow attack is where it's at. Get that down early and you'll blow through some later parts. Any attack where you can decapitate 1 or more enemies with a single hit is fine by me.
