This sub-forum a failed experiment?

Not very many threads at all after the first couple of weeks.

So few that I don't see why this couldn't be closed down and the announcements just posted in the main VG forum.

They certainly wouldn't clutter it up.

Honestly, there haven't been many/any PRs from companies that have come through the wire lately, hence the lack of news.

Still, it gets more traffic than Book Talk.

Were there really too many announcements in the regular video game forum to require another?

Aside from just ease of finding them I don't really think this sub-forum is really needed. Maybe if a convention of using "ANNOUNCEMENT: < system > < title >" was used for subjects in the main forum that would be good enough.

Yeah, I agree. I thought it was a good idea initially as there seemed to be a couple announcments a day, which would clutter up the main forum some.

But it so slow now I see absolutely no reason to not just post the occasional announcement in the forum.

Just limit the announcement threads to no more than 1 per day (in case PR releases start coming in more frequently toward the holiday release rush or whatever) and it would be fine.

a perfect example an over-organizing a forum.

Why not just have one announcement thread and make it a sticky in the Videogame Forum?

I just noticed this forum for some reason, i don't know, maybe because it was 3am when I checking.

yeah there's no point to this sub-forum, because anything that can be said here is also appropriate and makes more sense the main forum where it can be discussed

just have 1 forum. if it ain't broke no need to fix .

What is really needed is a sub forum about sub video games.

Yeah, please kills this subform already and post the rare announcements in the main VG forumr where people will actually see the threads and discuss the announcements.

This subforum should be combined with Book Talk and Star Wars Talk to become the forum that no-one visits.
