What Next-Gen systems will you be getting?
#26
Definitely got to wait and see the games, but I also will most likely buy all three even though I don't play as much anymore. I seem to enjoy being in debt. Gives me a reason to work.
I don't know if I will be buying any at launch this time around. I was disappointed with the Xbox and GC when purchased at launch so I will probably wait for a price drop on both. I waited for the $200 price drop on PS2, and will probably do so again.
Then again if the Revolution is introduced with a new Zelda game then I believe I will have to get that on launch.

I've already got a NES, SNES and N64. Why would I want to pay $30-40 to download games I already own? If you want to make the argument that you have to have more than one system hooked up to play those games where as the Revolution will allow you to play all those games on one machine then yes, it is a cool idea but I already have an Xbox that can do that. I'm not saying I won't be getting a Revolution, its just that I probably won't be getting one at launch. Definitely will be getting the PS3 though. At least with the PS3 I'll be able to play the PS1 & PS2 games I already own w/o having to buy those same titles again.

I still have my SNES, but a lot of my games, and ones I pick up used, have dead batteries so I still would have to shell out $5 or more to get the stupid special screw driver and battery, so I'd have no problem paying.
My NES died years ago, and my N64 is buried in a closet somewhere at my parents. But those two are kind of moot points as it's really only SNES games (best system ever IMO) that I really want.

I think I'll buy the Revolution. It'll have Nintendo's stuff, the most quirky/"new" games, the type of titles I'd like to play online (read: non-sports, FPS), and the access to Nintendo's back catalog.

Wow I see quite a few people are getting all 3. While I did get all 4 consoles this gen I can't see it happening again, it's a huge real estate investment if nothing else! At least the 360 will be a bit smaller...

I'm a Squaresoft fan boy so I'll follow wherever they go (so most likely PS3). But I'm probably gonna wait until the first price drop before I even think of buying any next gen system. I have to say though... PS3 is kinda ugly. Out of the 3 I like the 360 design the best.

I'll be getting a PS2 & Gamecube [already have an XBOX] from my Brother after he buys XBOX69, PS3 and Revolution.

I make sure I say good night to it every night. My wife says I would rather sleep with it than her sometimes. Hey, what can I say, I doesn't complain.

The GBA Micro is not a next-gen system, it's just a more portable one. Game GBA, smaller size.
I wont be getting any, just the DS and the PSP. I don't game at home, I do 99% of my gaming at work. Graphics don't matter to me at all. One of my favorite games is Zelda Minnish Cap. And I spent over 100 hours with the original Advanced Wars, over 60 with FF Tactics Advanced, and tens of hours with Golden Sun 1.

I picked all 3 because I'll eventually get all 3 I think.
1. Xbox 360 - by far... with the launch library and multitude of features, it's the only one worth getting at launch.
2. Revolution - It can play every game they ever made... I might as well get it after a price drop or two... unless I hate the controller.
3. PS3 - originally first on my list of next gen systems, but dropped to 3rd after E3. I'll probably get one anyway since I don't have a PS2 and I have 30 games (lost it in the divorce). On the other hand, I might just get the slim ps2 and skip the PS3. Sad.

I'll probably get the revolution fairly close to launch. I used to be a bit of a Sony fanboy back in the PS/N64 days, but later bought a used N64, and have since accepted the reality that Zelda, Mario, and Metroid can do no wrong. Plus, Nintendo seems to be the only company that is interested in innovation in gameplay. Also, I love the classic games angle...though some of my lesser known third party favorites will surely be left out. Space Megaforce anyone?
I'll probably get one of the other two as my primary player for third party etc. If it weren't for Rockstar, Namco, and to a lesser extent Square, I probably wouldn't bother. I have zero interest in FPSs (except Metroid Prime) and I'm mildly interested in Blu Ray, so it'll probably be a PS3 for me....but not until a price drop or two.
edit to add...I have an awful lot of PS and PS2 games and backwards compatibility is a big selling point for me.
