Does Xbox Live run differently on DSL than cable
When I pick up the XBOX 360 I want to utilize its Live features so I wanna know if there is a diffrence in the capabilities of using Xbox Live with DSL than with a cable modem? If so,whats the difference. Will these differences be the same for the 360?
TIA

okay as far as working different i can't see any way that it could. but unless you are getting the best package 1.5 DSL the cable will have you beat in download speed. the only upside is you don't share your connection so that will somewhat even the playing field. i know comcast and mediacom are going up to 5Mb download and i think 1Mb upload or 768k something crazy like that. but you share the network with everyone else who is on it. if you can talk the phone company into giving me 1.5 up/down let me know i'll switch to dsl. that'd be one hell of a cheap T1 line.

It should just depend on the speed, particularly the upload speed, as the download speed should be fine in any case. The only times where download speed would make a difference anyway is when you're downloading something big like extra content for games, not playing the games themselves. I don't think you could even generalize and say DSL or cable would be better, when it would come down to your particular provider and what kind of package you have (with some providers you can get faster speeds if you pay more and subscribe to a different package). Surely there are some DSL providers/packages that are better than some cable providers/packages and vice/versa.
Look for at least a 256kbps upload speed and you should be fine.
