Shadow of the Colossus! (Ico pseudo-sequel)
Holy crap! If you were at all a fan of the PS2 game ICO, you HAVE to go see these new movies at gamespot. I think I peed my pants a little bit. The world looks huge and the art direction is breath taking!
Videos are here
Check out the developer interview and the intro video. The last pan out in the intro video proved to me that the PS2 will be able to "hang" for at least another year. Simply amazing!
Love this shot (56k beware)

I like these pics:
Love the birds flying around the Collussus' head in this one:
And the sense of scale again in this one... the hero is teeny!

With this, Kingdom Hearts II and plenty of other amazing-looking games coming out in just the next year and seeing how painfully boring anything shown "next-gen" looks I'm starting to wonder how long it'll be before I actually give half a shit on any "next-gen" system.
So will this be like Ico at all? Awesome game and I'm looking forward to this.
I like the original title "Wanda and the Colossus" better, probably not "manly" enough for the US market though.

This game will be similar, but not the same. You will have to do the same sort of environmental puzzles to get to the Colossi, but once you get to them, its all about fighting puzzles.

Just remember, the height of the current gen is always going to look the best, play the best, and will probably even blow away a lot of the launch games of the next gen given the current level of tech.

Anyway, I agree that this game looks amazing. I just hope there is more to this game than ride your horse to the next boss. Beat and repeat. ICO is one of my favorites and I'm hoping for a little of that in there.

You really should go back and finish it, as ICO is one of those games that actually gets better the further in you go. I found that the beginning of the game was actually the weakest part, with the last sections being REALLY good.

New ridiculous footage! This is incredible! The game world looks HUGE and everything looks so fluid and natural. The PS2 hardware really looks like it's pushing some polys with this one. Check out the first 2 clips (posted 8/1/05) and prepare to be amazed!
Warning: Spoilers inside since you get to see some of the battles and even how one of them ends.

I've been keeping an eye on this game myself. I must say, this will be one of the few games I buy upon initial release for full price. I loved ICO though I think the lack of an annoying companion and greater emphasis on combat will make for an even better game here.
