I'm still debating whether or not to pick up a copy in 3 days.
It's times like these I wish I would actually get serious about my Japanese studies.

Yeah, I'll wait until I can see it on my 36" S-Video.

I am stopping visiting the news sites as of now as well. I've taken in all the previews but I want the real surprises kept as surprises. No doubt the general news sites (Magic Box or.. ugh, IGN) will update once a US release date is FINALLY announced.

I've always said I've wanted to watch this. Now that I'm actually faced with the temptation, I don't know what to do! Is it good? Talk me into it

The intro was made by the team behind Advent Children.
Hopefully they had nothing to do with the plot or characters beyond the intro animation.

Well I broke down and watched it because I'm a weak, feeble man. Of course, it makes me want to play it only more.

Spoiler:
Hasn't it always been said that CoM isn't necessary to understand the story? I defy anyone to make heads or tails of that intro with no knowledge of the GBA outing. It was neat, but I'd think very surreal for anyone just jumping in.

It's a tough decision on whether or not to wait or watch it now............but probably three months until the game comes out.......I need something to hold me over until then. Damnit, I'm gonna watch it!

Good choice. I was struggling with this decision as well.

But I eventually decided that even if I watch it i'll still enjoy KHII just as much.

I was right (haven't played the game yet obviously but loved the trailer).

if i have completed kh1-and go onto2,am i missing ANY or ALOT of story by not playing chain of memories?

and secondly, this has been bothering me SO much,WHO THE HELL IS THAT BLONDE KID I KEEP SEENING!!!!!(the 1 who has the same kind of dream sora did at the start of kh1....

i hope im not missing out on 2 much of the storie,i do have chain of memories, but i really didnt like it 2 much, and havnt played it alot because i can not get used to the card thing. but i think im gonna get playing it right away, but if you could answer those questions it would be great help and thnkx.

Good lord. Let me see if I can decipher all of that..

Chain of Memories introduces you to the XIII Order and Naminé and has some damn good build up of Riku's character. I don't think any of it will be required as I'm sure there will be some exposition, especially considering the end of the game has Sora, Donald and Goofy having their memories of the events in Castle Oblivion erased. More than likely important characters like Naminé and Axel will have to explain to Sora who they are and so forth. Riku's story has him struggling with his dark powers ultimately deciding that he will not let himself be overtaken by them again and wants to focus on the twilight (the path between light and dark). It *appears* that he and Mickey Mouse join the XIII Order at the end of his story.

The blonde kid you're seeing everywhere is Roxas (I think). You start the game as him which serves as an introduction to the game and the game's controls (much like the Awakening and Destiny Islands stages in the original). From the sounds of it, he seems to be Naminé's target after she releases Sora in Chain of Memories.

No release date is set so far. It was SUPPOSED to release right around the same time as the Japanese game (at least here in the states) but apparently Square-Enix did not want to release it so close to Dragon Quest VIII here, though I'm sure there are other reasons as well. Current "rumors" are March, which I guess isn't too bad.

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT.

Guys, the trailers, the videos.. NOTHING they have shown does this game justice.

Trust me.. the first boss battle is better than most game's final bosses.

Hey KH2Freak, here's another cool site you can check out and talk about Kingdom Hearts 2. There are only a few of us on this forum that talk about the game but there are hundreds of people discussing the game on this one....

How do I know? I'M PLAYING IT RIGHT NOW!

So.. the intro is about four hours long and DAMN is it hot.

I'll post some general, non-spoiler information when I'm stuck at hell work tomorrow.

Best part of the game so far: Vivi beating the hell out of Seifer.

Sorry if this sounds a bit jumbled, but I'm excited.

First things first. Obviously if you've read ANY part of this thread you'll know that I've built this insurmountable expectation for the game that rivals what was built up for Star Wars Episode I (but over 3 years instead of 16). I fully expected to be little let down but still loving the game. From the four hours I played last night I can tell you those expectations were not only met, but utterly shattered. The last time I had built a sequel this far up to still have my expectations exceeded was when Final Fantasy III came out for the SNES. But now, my personal dilemma kicks in. How much more do I play? My intention was to get a taste of the game to get it out of my system and get rid of it.. I have plenty to keep me occupied until March/April. I blew through the four hour intro in one sitting and to be honest, that seems like a damn fine stopping point.. BUT, oh but I want more.. so much more. This had the opposite effect, instead of quelling my three-year thirst for this game it simply amplified the hell out of it.
