I cannot get The Getaway (PS2) to start.
I just got this title and when I turn it on the intro with all the pans of skyscrapers just plays...forever.
This is the second copy of the game that I got and the disc is pristine. Alas, not one button on the game pad will start the game! I've tried combinations of buttons, I've cleaned out space on my memory card, I've restarted the thing a couple of times.
Anyone know the elusive secret of even getting this game to the main menu?

I didn't with that one. I'm having problems with a copy of Stuntman that I just got too. That one has a display that says "no controller found in controller port one" and with that one I've tried different controllers with no luck.
All my other games work just fine, so I don't think it's my system. The Getaway does indeed act like it's getting no signal from the controller. I'll try it again tonight, but I don't reallly expect anything.
What are the chances that the only two games I've ever had act up like this were purchased on the same day? I must have really pissed off my leprechaun.
Thanks for your input.
