Although you might need to not have been on the short bus to get it.

No need to stoop to insults. We're talking about games here. Grow up.

I've played games for such a long time I don't want to just give up just yet. There's still some innovative games every now and then that keep me around.

Plus, I still enjoy rehash games and still by every Zelda, Metroid, Ratchet and Clank etc. that comes out and have fun with them. I'm just not having as much fun as I used in the NES and SNES days, and the early days of 3D gaming when games were creative. My time spent on games has dropped considerably, from 10-20 hours a week, to probably less than that a month now.

Now that gaming is such a big business there seems to be less effort in being innovative and more effort in just copying what ever games are popular to make a quick buck.

As Pixyjunket said, this type of action is to be expected when something goes from a niche hobby to mainstream mass market success.

And yes, after 5-10 years I'm getting sick of complaining. Next gen is the game industry's last chance for me. I have some hopes with the new methods of control offered by the DS and hopefully the Revolution that we'll see some innovation, and hopefully Sony and/or MS will offer some innovative games as well.

If not, my complaining stops as does my gaming.

Just finished Doom 3(XBOX) a few minutes ago....took me probably 15 hours to beat on normal difficulty. I took my time and looked around quite a bit. I will put it on my Top 5 favorite games of all time. I know there are lots of people that hate it with a passion....I don't understand why...but people are entitled to their opinions. I will probably play it all over again this week. I wish I had a PC strong enough to run Resurrection of Evil . Maybe it will be on Xbox 2.

I beat the game this weekend also. Probably about 10 hours or so total. At first I hated the game....thought it was just average. However, it grew on me a bit and became a bit better. I thought it was a decent XBOX game overall. However, LIVE deathmatch was pretty piss-poor. Have yet to try-co-op

Finished it last night. Single player was decent, worth a rental or a cheap purchase. Just played Co-Op and had a blast. Played with a random guy (sounded like a kid actually) but he was cool and we had no issues sharing the limited health and ammo. It really was alot of fun. Definitely reccomend the co-op.
