I noticed a few product placements in the game. To prevent spoilers, I won't say when or where I saw them, but there was an ad for the War of the Worlds movie, and then one for Diet Sprite Zero.

I played the first level and a bit of the second level last night. After playing some single player, I realized that it's not lag that we're experiencing in co-op mode. I stepped a little too loudly and attracted the attention of one of the guards, but the game sputtered like it does in co-op. In another situation, the game paused for 10 seconds. Anyone else experience the sputtering or pausing?

I have a question about Chaos Theory. In the first two Splinter Cell games, if you shot at and missed a guard, he would instantly know where you are even if you were in a huge pitch black room. Does this still happen in Chaos Theory?

I think I have had it happen a few times. It reminded me of another reason I like the PC version. The ability to save anywhere. I find myself reloading often just to try different paths. It's awesome. Of course it also helps if you get caught and want to be stealthy, hehe.

I have the XBOX version and I can save anywhere. Not sure about the PS2, but all you have to do is pause the game and hit save.

Maybe it's a new thing this year. If I recall correctly, the old Splinter Cell games would only save at checkpoints.

No. That's new this year; it's the reason I picked this up even though I was less than crazy about the previous two. Can't wait to try it out with my best friend in HI.

I just finished this, and I have to say it is definitely a 10 in my book. It could have been longer, but I'm not complaining.

I noticed more product placement. A couple references to PoP (guard says he just got the new PoP game) and an Ubisoft blimp flying in a cut scene. Also, Nokia was seen a few times.

One of the funniest lines I remember a guard saying went something like this:

Fisher: "You have any more ammo?"
Guard: "What do you think you can shake my body and ammo will fall out for you to pick up?"

Obviously a Metal Gear Solid reference

I'm really enjoying Chaos Theory. This is my first shot at the Splinter Cell series, but I'll probably pick up the first two after I finish the third. Hopefully the other two will be playable----I've heard Chaos Theory is the best of the three.

My only gripe with the game: shooting simply isn't intuitive. Aiming is fine, but the hit detection seems off. I wish my bullets effected the enemies even if it doesn't instantly take them down. Also, I don't like the fact that when I shoot with a silencer, my position is automatically blown.

But that's okay. I like gutting the people anyway.

I can say for both of us that we did indeed pick it up. I only had a day to play it before I went out of town, but I plan on getting back to work learning the maps this weekend. If I can manage to tear myself away from World of Warcraft.

I should still have you on my friends list so I'll watch for you.

$20 price drop, now $29.99 most everywhere, so I think now I'll pick this baby up since I really enjoyed the prior ones...

Edit: I did pick this up at GameStop last night, $29.99 for the "Limited Edition," which comes in a very cool case with a bonus DVD full of pretty sweet stuff...

Not sure if anyone has been following but IGN broke the news today about the download content coming up. It may include a map called "Squat" and some co-op levels. If you are interested, you should head on over to IGN XBOX.

I have a strong feeling this is going to be premium content. Ubisoft's track record for premium is quite strong these days.

Gosh....lucky.

I really wish I had the soundtrack, but I didn't realize they had put out a special edition of the game. I guess I don't feel too bad, seeing as how I paid $30 when it first came out.

Yea, one time in the second co op mission, we had the guards freaked out and they said somthing like:

Guard 1: We must get them. . .
Guard 2: Unless. . . they get us first!

Right after he said that I shot him with sniper, so if you can picture that, it was pretty funny.

I don't have a PS2 woozie so I checked on Gamespot; it says up to 4 players online, broadband connection required.

Btw, I'm currently working on Splinter Cell 4 (release in March 2006), and it looks damn good so far

Well I think I'm going to get the Xbox 360, because the PS2 has to many limits. Microsoft is beating Sony big time, though I did have fun with Sony, guess it's time to try somthingnew out.

I gotta shut my yap since I signed a confidentiality agreement but let me tell ya the story is getting lots of twists and turns and there's a MAJOR emphasis on Sam Fisher this time

Let's just say Sam will have some difficult choices to make.

Sweet, sounds good. Now, you may or may not know, but I'm a huge fan of the versus mode. Anything juicy on that end? C'mon, nobody will know ([email protected]). While we're at it, would you happen to know anything about the new map Polar Base coming out for CT?

Sorry, I can't help myself.

As much as I would like to spill the beans, I can't SteelgearX

I feel a little bit like an asshole, teasing about new content and then shutting up
