What size is the headset mic port on XBox Live?

Is it 2.5 mm (3/32") or 3.5 mm (1/8")?

I want to use this Halo 2 XBox unit for a PC mic:

it's a 2.5mm just like a cell phone headset.

That's what I thought. Gracias! I'm going back to Otter now.

Yes, but not all headsets will fit. The port on the communicater is unusually deep. Probably intentional on MS's part.

That's entirely possible Corvin but he is wanting to use it for his pc so that depth shouldn't be a problem for the contacts in his sound card.

Ahh. Just skimmed the post. That is an extremely comfy headset. Probably the best out there. It should be a lot cheaper than 50 bones though.

So that explains why I keep seeing that it is "XBox" compatible. So no one can see any issue with using a 2.5 to 3.5 mm adapter and using it on a PC?
