I didn't see this posted in here. Sega is close to getting exclusivity to the MLB license

Lame. I guess its better than EA buying exclusive rights to it but why must we have exclusive rights in the first place?

I agree totally Ryo. I'm pissed at both Sega and EA now. This monopolistic bullshit must stop.

Good for Sega! If EA is going to take away their opportunity to make money on their (IMO) better football game, then at least they might be able to recoup some on MLB.

Sadly, this is what it is going to come to - individual companies owning exclusive rights to the major sports. Since EA got to the NFL, it is only fair that someone else get MLB.

Imagine if EA owned all rights to ALL the major sports. Think about the trouble brewing then.

once EA started this what would you expect? Sega has to stay in business somehow. It sucks though, this whole thing really sucks.

If the information I read was correct... EA already TRIED for the exclusivity with the NBA and was shot down by them...

Hell I'm still pissed at EA for not releasing THRILL KILL for PS1, when they purchased Virgin Interactive's game lineup back in the day. Then on top of that refusing to sell the game to other possible publishers.

Good for Sega though, even though exclusivity is lame.

I could care less...I am not a baseball fan. I think they should work really hard on a College Football game. They could try to maybe get a license from Fox Sports.

Good for Sega...... EA is doing a nasty business by their actions......

They are going straight at Sega for all of this.......

EA is dumb and Sega is great....

Hmmm, I think they are both doing the same business, Sega is just more of the fan favorite because they are the underdog.

I think regardless of what you think about EA or Sega exclusivity for and sport is bad for the consumer.

I agree.

Ironically, I'm more of a fan of EA's MLB games, and Sega's football, so it looks like I'm not getting anything that I want.

And people want Nintendo to go the way of Sega. This may be good for Sega, but overall, they are in a bad spot.

I suspect the MLB have "leaked" this story to start a bidding war. I will not be at all surprised if a week from now EA have secured the MLB rights after showing they have looser purse-strings.

Ugh, Escalation of these exclusive rights deals is not a good thing.

Lame. I don't care who's buying exclusivity, it still sucks. Especially since Sega's baseball game is nothing special.

This exclusivity thing isgetting scary...
I thought innovation was slow in the open market...but now it will get ridiculous.
NFL Street 2 has so little innovation it makes me sick. Seriously, that game is 99% NFL Street. I like the game but I think it's a sign of things to come.

I'm done with sports games. No one's ever been able to get baseball right, anyway.
