Which ESPN game to give?

I'm looking to get someone one of the ESPN games on Xbox as a gift, and I'm not sure which one. The choices are NBA 2k5, NFL 2K5, and College Hoops 2K5. He has NCAA Football 2005 (The EA game) already which came with the Xbox, and I believe he played one of the older ESPN Basketball games. He likes Basketball and Football about the same, so I can't really use that as a tiebreaker. For those who've played them all, in relative terms how do they rank?

I have not played NBA or College Hoops, I am sure they are fine games. But NFL 2k5 is really awesome.... It is one of my most played game this year (probably 50+ hours and I don't go on Live). If your friend likes B-ball in general, go for one of the basketball games, you can't go wrong. But if he likes football more, NFL is no brainer.

You cannot go wrong with any choice honestly. NFL is GREAT....I've played it LOTS. I also have both B-Ball games, and both are very good. So, I guess it depends what he likes best.

I would go with NBA because football season is winding down, whereas basketball still has a long way to go.

Of the choices, I went with College Hoops. Why isn't hockey on your list?

I would go with one of the basketball games, just because he has NCAA 2005. I think NFL 2K5 is great, but it's hard to switch between EA's NCAA game and ESPN's NFL game. More than likely, he will quit playing one of the two.

Rather than forcing him to decide between two good football games, I'd add a basketball game to the mix.

ESPN College Hoops 2K5 is excellent. I haven't stopped playing it since I bought it.

Well, there's no hockey in the choices, because he doesn't really like hockey. Much like the poll results so far, I'm pretty much split between NFL and College Hoops. College Hoops I've never played, but is recommended very highly. I've enjoyed NFL 2K5, but he does already have a football game, and like Gromit said it would be hard to switch between the two...so err, keep the votes coming!
