Used GBA SP

My girlfriend just decided she'd like one of these for Christmas. Now I'm scrambling to find one and see if i have enough money to fit it in with everything else.

What's the cheapest way to get one? I haven't seen any great deals though I may have missed them. They have them used at Gamestop for $59.99 with no game, is this about the best i'm going to do?

If it's going to be a gift, I'd get her a new one. Just a thought.

Yes, I know it sounds cheap, but I pretty much already have all of her christmas presents, this is sort of a last minute addition that i'd like to surprise her with if i can afford it.

Having said that, is $79.99 the standard price for this? There aren't any bundles or deals or anything?

Given that the DS is out now, you might be able to find some bundle deals as we get closer to Christmas. I wouldn't expect to see any sales, however.

With the holidays, i'm sure that you'll be able to find some sort of bundle that includes either accessories or a game before Christmas. For instance, Circuit City this week gives you a carrying case.

Sam's Club usually has a bundle.

But if you are on the cheap and pretty sure she would be happy with it either way, hit half.com or ebay.

I don't think she'd mind that much if it's used. I mean if it's beaten to hell and back that's one thing, but if it's still got the packaging and is in good shape I doubt she would care.

Does gamestop sell their used ones with the packaging?

I'll sell you my platinum SP (in box) with a game or two. I'm going to be getting a DS soon anyway. Email me if you're interested.

She might not say she would mind, but she would... Think of it as getting her a nice set of earrings, but they had already been in someone's ears

I think that's a little different, as a Gameboy is not (supposed to be) inserted into any bodily cavities.

As long as you get a used pink sp, you should be fine. It's doubtful that anyone with sweaty hands would play on a pink sp.

BTW, 10 cents worth of anti-bacterial wipes should take care of any "cooties" that may be on a used sp.

I haven't seen many pink ones around. Are they as common?

I thought Pink SP was a Japan/Europe only.

Ooh.. looks like Europe has a Gold SP Limited Edition with a Triforce emblem and the new Zelda.

The Best Buy Surf Blue LE is pretty slick looking too.

Blockbuster has a "make your own bundle" deal, where you get 2 used games and the system for 60, I think. You need to find a Blockbuster with a Game Rush in it, as the regular BB stores usually don't carry systems.

Seriously? That would be fantastic! But it sounds too good to be true. I called a Gamerush yesterday and the guy said they had used GBAs for $59.99. He didn't mention anything about a bundle, but that would be perfect.
