I really don't have much experience with games rated Mature, but how does Halo 2 stack up? Why is it rated M? I know I can look at the ESRB, (I have), but is it really deserving of it's rating, assuming no online play?

To put some context on my question, the only real M rated game that has been played in my home was Onimusha 3: Demon Siege. That game has a much worse description by the ESRB than Halo 2 does, yet I thought it laughable that it had a Mature rating. Does single player Halo 2 truly deserve it?

Based on single player only, I would say there isn't much in Halo 2 that deserves a mature rating. Mostly, your killing aliens. There may be a few curse words uttered by nearby marines but I honestly didn't notice much. Online is a different story with lots of colorful language from 13 year olds who want to try out the new curse words they've recently learned.

But to answer your question, based on my experience, I would say Halo 2 single player is safe for a 13 year old. Hope that helps...
