Anyone have "Alien Hominid" for Gamecube and can post thoughts?

I know it comes out today or tomorrow, but wanted to see if anyone actually found it early and started fiddling with it. If so, could you post some thoughts? Maybe to tell if real kiddie or perhaps some features of the game and how long it is likely to last for a very casual gamer.

Thanks in advance.

omg this game is so much fun. i got it for ps2, not GC, but according to gamespot they are identical. its so nice having so many good games coming out for $19.99 or $29.99. if you like metal slug and oldschool contra, you should pick this up ASAP

how long do you think it will last (hours) for the "very casual, takes awhile to get good gamer"?

forever. the game is hard as hell lol i love it.

naw, i dunno i havent beaten it yet. seems a lot harder than the 2d contra on PS2, wich wasnt really hard at all after you got the patterns down, this might be the same way. its just the stupid bullets are hard to see sometimes.

This game is just a reskinned version of Metal Slug as far as I'm concerned.

I am having so much trouble getting my hands on this and now I want it even more (kinda that can't have, need it bad thing). Have it on reserve, but has yet to come in.

Anyone else having similar troubles? What is the deal? Did they ship late or is there just such little demand for this title?

this game is awesome.

it's pretty violent. There's blood spurting out everywhere and you can do other things like bite the heads off enemies, etc., but it's classic old school gameplay like metal slug, which is what matters.

wish they made games like this more often.

i finally got it!!! it took awhile and was painstaking, but it is in my possession and i am happy. haven't played yet, but that wasn't the point! reserved it at the evil Gamestop, but that was to no avail. still nothing as of today. called one EBX and they had one left, they held it for me, i went and i got it and now i can breathe again.

After playing it for a bit, it seems to just be a Metal Slug rip off.

Man, with all these Metal Slug comparisons I've got a perfect Christmas gift for my best friend if I can only keep him from hearing about this beforehand.

so what?

what games aren't a rip off of another game these days? originality is hard to come by. also, i didn't think there was a Metal Slug for the next generation consoles. I know there isn't one for the Gamecube, which I have, so I am more than happy to have a fun, shooter with 2-D fully drawn and gorgeous art work that is truly original.

so stop your bellyaching and maybe come up with an original comment.

Well if you'd like to part with said Metal Slug ripoff I would be more than happy to provide this game with a happy home...

Honestly, I can't think of a game that is as similiar as Hominid is to Metal Slug. As joshd said, it is pretty much a reskinned version of Metal Slug. Don't get so bent out of shape just because I posted my opinion.
