Best Halo 2 pre-order deal?

Anyone know of any stores doing any pre-order specials? Not like get a free so-and-so if you pre-order from whatever store, but like trade in specials and deals of that nature? Like when EB was giving $10 per game if you traded them in for NCAA or Madden.

At my local EB you can trade in your old copy of Halo and get a $15 credit toward your pre-order of Halo 2.

You also can get a trade credit of $10 per game toward a Halo 2 pre-order. They don't take really old games or old sports games but I was pleased with what they accepted from me (several of the CC $5 games). I traded in 6 games and got the Halo 2 Limited Edition completely paid for...tax and all.

You can also combine the above two deals as one of my friend did.

Blockbuster is doing something similar. I traded in two old games with the trade in value at $1.50 each but they bump it up to $10 each so you get HALO 2 for $29.99 + tax. You can only trade in 2 games for the deal, ie You can't take in 5 old games or games you picked up for $4.99 at Circuit City and get HALO 2 for free.

Is that only for Halo 2? Or for any game?

They have a similar deal posted in the store for Ghost Recon 2 also. Trade in 2 games max upto $10 tradein value allowed per game. Expired Nov 15th I believe.

So GR2 would cost $29.99

My EB only mentioned the first deal. The CSR didn't know anything about the latter one.

Best deal might be the current Toys R Us deal. Buy 3 games for the price of 2, and then on Nov 9th go in and trade an unopened one in for Halo2. Works out to $33 per game for 3. I'm getting my 2 copies of Halo this way, along with San Andreas for a friend.

Trevor. You might want to look at the ToysRUs fine print. It clearly states thet in the Buy 2 Get 1 free deal you can only exchange for games that were released before Nov. 1st.

I took advantage of this deal last year and did a couple of exchanges but I have to look elsewhere this time around.

Where was the fine print? I never saw any expanded written details about the 2-for-1.

If you have Gift Receipt you can exchange any game for game in the next 45 days.
