Goldeneye:Rouge Agent Speculation

I'm pretty inerested in this game, if only because I'm hoping it will live up to the original Goldeneye on N64. What I'm speculating/hoping is that they may include the original game or some of the original games' levels as unlockables on this one. Or, what would be even better, have a bonus disc of the original game with it or something like that. Any thoughts?

I like the idea, but it seems that they are cashing in on the name rather than producing a true successor to the title.

My thoughts exactly. EA has been milking the success of Goldeneye since they acquired the Bond license from Rare, they are counting on people who are hoping it will "live up to the original". I wouldn't expect a full version of the old game, I would imagine Rare still owns the rights to that?

Hmmm...I thought it was from the same designers. If not, that makes me skeptical. And if they don't tie it into the original game/storlyine somehow...that's just going to be a bigger disappointment.

EA has the rights to the Bond license, but not the Rare game.

RA seems like a cheap ploy to cash in on the success of Goldeneye. From what I understand, the game has nothing to do with the Goldeneye satelite. It's called "Goldeneye" because the main character has an eye that is golden.

someone should've just released an upgraded version of the original. No game changes at all except for graphics and controls.

Let's not jump to conclusions based on the spelling in the subject header. For all we know, this could be about a sales agent for Maybelline.

Now, THAT'S a game idea!

In regards to rouge/rogue...

No way. There's no way I just fucking did that. I'm not real picky about spelling errors, but something that obvious...
Thanks for pointing it out MadMonk. I would edit it, but I'll leave it as a testament to my carelessness.

By the way, I'm not being sarcastic. I've got an English degree, and usually pride myself on my spelling. But that's just...pathetic.

Back on topic, I agree an updated version of the original game (or for that matter, Perfect Dark) would be awesome.

Introducing Goldeneye Rouge agent... he's FABULOUS!!

Actually Sony just bought MGM which owns the Bond IP so I wonder how that will affect the systems the game appears on.

Very nice of you to own up to it, and not just say "F!#$ you, you know what I meant, A-hole".

You are not alone, though. The same thing happened with Star Wars: Rogue Leader...

Maybe someone good with photoshop can make one of the "Rouge Agent" box cover?

This is going to be on shelves this week. I am realy hoping that the multiplayer is as fun as the original. If it were it would be awsome on live. Haven't seen any reviews yet, hopefully EA can live up to the original Goldeneye.

Also as in Best Buy ad: Free $15 dollar GC for reward zone members with the purchase Of Goldeneye: Rogue Agent(49.99). Ad says it will be available on Friday.

have been eagerly awaiting this game, but after reading that IGN review I might have to give it a rent before I purchase it.

EA? Live on brand recognition? Never! Every game is a special and unique snowflake.

Take Madden 2005, for instance - so much better than Madden 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, or any of EA's other Madden Football titles dating back to the 1980s...
