Hmm, I don't see a fast shooting Galaga. I'm using MAME32 .87. I know I've played it before
Looks like it was removed in version. 80. Still trying to find out why. I found the roms, so I guess we could play an older version of MAME.

I know I have no say in the matter, but it seems like we ought to go for a different game than one we've already done... fast shoot or no.

I figured it out. It can be duplicated by using a cheat. You have to download a cheat.dat file and enable the cheat. It's fairly simple, but I would prefer D300 just picks something else. I'd rather not have to explain to everyone how to cheat. Please?
There are a lot of super fast vertical shooters in the Shooter/Flying Vertical category
1941
Aero Fighters
Air Duel
the list goes on and on
Star Force will be the new choice unless D300 has another preference. It's from the same era as Galaga and shoots faster. The biggest difference is that it is vertically scrolling.

I liked the Atari 2600 version of Q-Bert, but I don't think I can remember all the patterns.

You couldn't kick me off the system. I turned the score over 3 times.

ok Asteroids it is. Much better choice
Since we're doing this by everyone's word, if you can turn the score over you better keep track of how many times. Or make a recording in the current version of mame.
Dig Dug --> Q*bert
Joust --> Asteroids
Ninja Spirit --> Rolling Thunder

I loaded up Asteroids for the first time in a longtime. The artwork for it is awesome
They made an overlay that makes it look like a curved monitor with burn-in.
