Went to best buy and they didn't even know about this game. One guy even told me, yah it's coming out but not until months later.

Ok!

CC had them, though.

I can confirm that you can play w/ a controller in place of the kongos. The right side of the controller (B, A, X, Y, C stick) acts as the right drum, the left side of the controller (Control Stick, Control Pad) acts as the left drum, and the shoulder buttons (L, R, Z) act as clapping.

I intend to pick up another kongo controller at some point, but it seems like such a huge investment for one game.
Try buying Samba De Amigo with both original Maraca sets then come talk to me about a big investment

Crap. I hope my CC still has some in stock when I go over there tonight. I didn't bother checking yesterday because their ad said "Available 9/29."

Picked this up yesterday. Fun, fun game for the whole family. Very different than anything in my library.

I do like it, especially when the songs get more complex, but when compared to DDR, which I also just recently purchased, this is kind of bland.
Yes, very different games, but same sort of style. I need to try the it with more people I guess too.

Got an email from Nintendo...they're having something called Donkey Konga Game Night at some select cities. You get to play the game...there'll be prizes and you get to watch Shark Tale after the event for free Check the link for details.

Here's the Link

Picked this up too. It's about what you'd expect but pretty fun. One very cool thing about it (and it won't matter to those without young'n's) is that it has kid songs. You know, little kid songs like bingo and medley's with row-row-row your boat and I've been working on the railroad. I've never seen any rhythm games with truly kid appropriate songs in them before. My kids love it and really get into banging on the drums even though they're not doing well they're still having fun. My four-year-old is actually not too bad at the easier songs.

How does this come packaged? Is the game indiviually wrapped from the bongos?

There's a big box with the Bongos wrapped in plastic, a shrink-wrapped game, and a few misc pamphlets and manuals.

I would love to play this but Game Rush still hasn't gotten it in. Guess that is what I get for saving money. They are in no Rush to get you your preorder. [rimshot]

I'm 20 years old and I actually enjoyed some of the kid's songs more than the other ones. I just wish they'd have put more Nintendo themed songs in there.

Someone at the store figured out what Donkey Konga was and called to tell me my order was there. Looks like the family will be playing this all weekend.

Dude, Wild Thing might as well pause the game midway through and hand me my ass.

I've completely much harder songs on the Gorilla level, but I can't get Wild Thing!!! argh.

I got Wild Thing pretty quickly, though there's one section in there that kicks my butt every time. My wife can't handle it, however, and she was drum captain in high school.

What's frustrating me is that the game mocks me by telling me it's an easier song. ...but that one section... makes me so violent. By the end of that stretch, I'm just bashing the bongos trying to hit any notes.

What's funny is watching my wife get flustered, hit pause, compose herself, start again, and then almost immediately hit pause again.

"DAMMIT!!!"
