Favorite Neo Geo games?
After years of collecting dust in the corner, I finally was able to get my neo geo fully operational! (after getting a monitor chassis, fixing the mobo, and replacing the joysticks)
I need some games, folks! I have fatal fury in there now, and I plan to pick up Metal Slug X & Puzzle Bobble. Looking for some more ideas, so what are you're favorites?
(paging pixy, repeat paging pixy)

Ah, my services are requested.
As a (former) Neo arcade owner I'll give you my favorite non-fighting games.
Twinkle Star Sprites is probably one of the greatest games ever made. If you've never heard of it, think of a vs. puzzle game, ya know when you make a good combo, blocks are sent to your opponent's field. But instead of a puzzle game, it's a SHOOTER. Words are not enough.. get a friend (two players is REQUIRED) and try it out.. it's so good, the $100~ it sells for on eBay is well worth it (but since you're looking for Metal Slug X, I take it costs isn't an issue, hehehe..) If you need to, come back and ask for tips, I consider myself a TSS expert. [/ego]
I have to give a shout-out to Neo Turf Masters, but if you don't dig golf move along.. (it's a FUN game, dammit)
Pulstar and Blazing Star are "okay".. nothing special IMO if you've played a lot of the newer shooter games (Ikaruga, Shikigami, Espgaluda..) but nonetheless, both are nice additions to a Neo library, considering it was an overlooked genre on the machine.
Top Hunter is a really cool game. Looks like a simple beat-em-up platformer, but has a lot more depth if you want to explore it (each character has a TON of un-documented moves by doing fighting-game style controller+button combos).
Windjammers is Pong to the eXXXtreme.. and lots of fun.
Oh, and if you get any fighting game, Samurai Showdown 2 is the must-have.

Magician Lord is a pretty cool platform game.. Castlevania-like? Maybe.. it's been a while.
Waku Waku 7 is a fighting game that doubles as a parody of anime (either parody or the designers were REALLY unoriginal).
No Twinkle Star on Yahoo! Japan either.

I think part of the problem with you not finding anything on eBay might be due to you searching "twinkle start brites" rather than "Twinkle Star Sprites".
Not meant as a sarcastic question, but are you visually impaired and using a text-reader?

It's Magician Lord. And I second it's nomination. Nice platforming that has aged reasonably well.

Been hearing that 2 is the best of the series. True or False?

Waku Waku 7 is a fighting game. It is Japanese only (but does have English text), at least for home release.
It is a pretty cool 'offbeat' 2D fighter, not at all serious like KOF, SamSho's or FFs. In fact, the last boss is pretty funny!
I do like it alot tho.

I liked the Nam '67 game. I couldn't really get into Magician Lord although I really wanted to. I couldn't get used to the rythym of the controls. Maybe I just sucked hard at it.

I loved the Neo Geo Pocket. I put 100 hours into Capcom Vs. SNK Card Fighters Clash.
Never had the Neo Geo console though.
I just wish Nintendo had copied the joystick the Pocket had for the Game Boy. The Neo Geo pocket was an amazing handheld to play fighting games on.

What no baseball stars? I am also iffy on magician lord its not a bad game but not great either if you can get it for realitivly cheap then get it. For some reason I also liked world Heroes 1+2 not overly innovative as far as fighting games go but fun anyways. I also liked Cyberlip which should be another cheap game was kind of fun it was kinda like metal slug before metal slug. And there was a top view plane shooter, actually probably more then one that I like but dont remember what it was called.
