Good Xbox game with co-op mode?

Having some friends over tomorrow night so I'm going to rent 1 or 2 games. So aside from Halo, which games have co-op mode and don't suck? I tried this last year and rented a couple but bleh... I assume new/better ones came out since last year?

besides the sports games?

because for example in FIFA you can play 2 vs the xbox...

I don't think there are a lot of games that do co-op like Halo, I mean with that quality.

I found a couple of interesting links, so I guess my question has been answered.

There are also a couple of threads in this forum on this subject already.

although not strictly coop, team wild chicken on Crimson Skies is great! I 've wasted many a nite playing this with my wife, bro in law, and his wife.

Honestly the first "Dungeons and Dragons" game I ever bought but it was great fun for co-op. I also heard that Brute Froce is very good if played ona very high difficulty setting. Otherwise the opponents are dumb. And you can play with 3 others coming and going during gametime.

Rising Sun is no good...got bored during the Pearl Harbor part if you can believe that, and I loved MOH: AA. I didnt play co-op though, but I can't imagine having another person would make it any more interesting.

You may want to try party games too. NHL 2k5 has some party games and Fusion Frenzy has a couple fun ones.

Ended up playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein co-op. Having had a few bottles of wine before we played probably made it more fun than it really is though.

Reviving an old thread...

Can anyone recommend a good co-op game besides sports games or Halo?

X-Men Legends is fun.....
Lego Star Wars

Timesplitters FP could be fun (not sure if it's Co-Op, but you can have deathmatch with bots)

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory has a nice Co op mode splitscreen. Somewhat short though with only few levels

I sometimes wish I had friends who would come over and play XBOX.
