Am I the only guy that enjoyed "Luigi's Mansion"?
I have a PS2 and I just got a Gamecube this past Xmas. I was skeptical about picking LM due to alot of negative reviews. It was 19.99 so i said what the heck...I grew up on Mario and Luigi and Nintendo first-party titles...so i thought it would have to be good.
Let me just say even though this game came out in 2001, the graphics have aged very well. The lighting and effects are very good IMHO. The sound is very good as well....it is hilarious to hear Luigi whistle and hum the BGM. Him saying "Mario? Maaaarioooo??" can get old but it is still funny. I had a blast playing through the game. The game is on the easy side and it is pretty short...but it is well worth 19.99. Although....when you get to the final boss-"King Boo"-.....the game goes from moderately easy to "Oh my God this Boss is freaking impossible". It took me several tries before I was successful.
I just wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts were on the game. Toodles.

Insanely fun game.
Luigi's Mansion, in my opinion, features the best use of analog control EVER. One thing I noticed when I played it was that you actually felt like you were moving that vacuum around and struggling to get those bastards in there.

I've got to agree with PJ. I picked this up at launch with my GC and its the first I played through and won. I've gone back and done it again several times. I think its replay value is high and is still entertaining.
The graphics were amazing and the gameplay was fun. It was a little hard to get used to the controls, but once I got it, it was a blast!
I would love to see another game based on the same model.
This game is still in my top 5 for the GCN.

The best part of this game is walking up to furniture and shaking it for treasure. It looks like Luigi is humping the object and then he goes "Maaaaaaaaariooooooooo!". Too funny!

Loved it, as well, but like others I felt it was to short. Would have been cool if they had different mansions. Not sure how they could make the "story" work, but would have been neat.

I bought this game at launch and absolutely loved it. A very fun and original game.
Neither this game or Pikmin seemed to get much respect among gamers at the time, but I thought they were both great games. I still have found memories of the power going out in the mansion and the mad dash to try and turn it back on before I died.
Only downside of the game was its length as mentioned by others.

I too wish there was a sequel but doubt it will happen. Nintendo doesn't usually make sequels that are more like expansion packs. It seems like they have to break new ground every time they make a game. I for one would be happy to see one as the first was too short.
Try getting a perfect game by not getting hurt on any of the bosses. It's tough! I tried it a while ago but stoped when I got to the boo boss that split.
I agree that this and Pikmin are highly underappreciated games.

I liked it too. Never got around to finishing it, but I enjoyed what I played so far.
