ESPN NHL 2k5 (XBOX) League
 

This is really the sports game I am craving. Anyone want to get in a league? Game comes out this Wednesday. I'd like to be the Bruins. But if there is a lot of people who want the same teams, I'll hold a draft.

I have not played a console Hockey in years though. The last one I remember playing was on the SNES in 1995.

so...how does the hockey league stuff work? How long is the season and how many games a week? All I am familiar with online is football

Even though I'm sure they will suck all kinds of ass, I'll take the New York Rangers.

When I used to play a league for NHL 2002 on the PC, we used to do a game every other day. It worked well for us, but we were all college kids with nothing better to do. I assume this league will be a bit different.

The other thing we did was play a short season. I think one season we played enough games so that everyone played each other once, then the other time we did twice. I think it will need to depend on how often we play games. I know I would like it if we could do playoffs every couple months because playoff hockey is what it's all about!

Just my .02, have your friend register here. Part of the fun of these leagues in the interaction with fellow board members. I'm not saying he has to to play, but it would be nice.

I just got back with my game in hand, about to try it out. When do you suspect the league will begin? Are we going to wait to get a full slate of teams or just start shorthanded?

I'm gonna pick the game up either tonight or tomorrow.

No one else has signed up, so I'm gonna cap the league at the lowest threshold above the number that has signed.

16 people have signed up. I am more than willing to start the league with 16 people. I'm looking out the window, and traffic does not look fun. If someone wants to start the league tonight with the teams stated, they are more than willing. But I will either do it tonight or tomorrow.

I went ahead and started the league deadlax. The league name is DVDTalk. and the password is dvdtalk. all lowercase. I made it 16 team league.
