Astro Boy: Omega Factor
BUY IT!!! IT'S AMAZING!!!
Seriously, the best Treasure game in years. Better than Ikaruga. It belongs on the GBA. If you have any love for old-school games that aren't impossibly hard or stupid like Shinobi then buy it!

The American version isn't out yet, but there was a ROM leak several weeks ago. Some people that played it said it was much improved over the Japanese version. Less slowdown, different enemies, a new "Normal" difficulty mode, etc. Sounds good.

I like it better than Ikaruga because the game has more personality. And I love Astro Boy. It's a very faithful videogame incarnation.
It comes out today in the US.

I had no idea Treasure was developing an Astro Boy game. I never really got into the whole Astro Boy series, I've watched the show for awhile but didn't really like it so much, I understand it is huge in Japan, but after playing Ikaruga on the Gamecube, if Treasure is behind this I'm defeinitly gonna look into it!

So is it just out at specialty stores (EB, Gamestop, etc.) now? Haven't seen it at Bestbuy or Target or anything yet...

The PS2 and the GBA Astro Boys are two totally different games.
This should help:
GBA version = great
PS2 version = not so great
I've been playing the GBA version and it is awesome. I love Viewtiful Joe - but I'm enjoying this a lot more (they're pretty similar).

The PS2 version was indeed made by Sonic Team. It's not so hot. Then again, i just played the demo...
It's release date was tuesday, most specialty stores should have it by now. BB restocks Th/Fri, so it should be in either later today or tomorrow.

This game is awesome, I bought based on rave impressions I've been hearing and just played it through the first few levels, it kicks ass!
I'm digging the story too, I actually missed the first 5 or so episodes so that might be why I couldn't get into it, its neat how the story directly ties into the upgrade system and gameplay.
And to think I hadn't even heard about this game until a few days ago, its become one of my favorites

Well, finally got this game from TRU, though still no sign of it at Bestbuy or CC (it seems like those store don't really get GBA games that quickly). I love it so far.
I'm really surprised that they brought it over here, though. The cartoon is pretty much dead in the water (it's not on WB anymore, and it got taken off cartoon network as well), the manga series ended a while ago, and very few people here would be familiar with all of the extra characters. I'm grateful, though. Anyone else think it was weird seeing all those logos at the beginning of the game? It's the first time I've seen a game with Sony, Sega, and Nintendo logos all together.

I'm sure some of you here have to have beaten the game by now
And the story was pretty good too, pretty complicated for a game like this, but I did enjoy it and the characters, I take back what I said about not liking them. I beat it on the normal mode, hard seems like suicide.
Spoiler:
