Is there a Far Cry expansion in the works?

I just finished Far Cry and I'm thinking about trading it away, but I'd like to hold on to it if there is an expansion in the works.

An expansion seems unlikely, but I'm sure there is a stand alone sequel in the works.

I just hope something utilizing the engine comes out.

Crytek is currently finishing up the Xbox version... they recently released the mod-making SDK, so there will be plenty of fan-created expansions. And as successful as this game was for a new property, it'll likely have some retail expansions (whether Crytek decides to develop them, or simply buy fan-created ones). Ubisoft wouldn't dare drop this franchise, so even if Crytek doesn't create a sequel or expansion - there will be one.

The thing I love about FPS on PC is that there will always be more to play because of mods other downloadable goodies. . .hell, I just installed some rally racing mod for Steam/Counterstrike.

so yeah, I would keep it.
