Take you xbox to his house, and log onto xbox live with his account. (note: bring the games that you want updates for)

Or put your friends Xbox Live account on a memory card and transfer it to your Xbox. Either way will work...

But memory cards only hold 500 blocks and LIVE content takes at least 1700 Blocks.

I'm going to take my Xbox and try to hook up my Xbox to his LIVE connection. Hope it works.

No, you should be able to save a LIVE account on a mem card.

As Copenhagen said above, you put his Xbox Live account (not his downloadable content) on a memory card and transfer it to your Xbox. You'll have to do it regardless of whether you bring your Xbox over to your friends house or not. Your Xbox won't be able to log onto Live without transfering his account to your hard drive. If you already have high-speed internet at your house, you can save yourself some trouble.

You could also use one of the many free live trial codes.
