Tragedy...accidentally deleted save file (gamesaves?)

So I am playing Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy (gamecube) last night, about ready to fall asleep. I quit out of the game because it froze (first time I have had that happen), but when I went back to load the game, I accidentally hit start new game, then even dumber I accepted overwriting my game save. It sucks because I was on the very last boss, and had put in ~15 hours.

Anyways was searching online and came accross a gameshark gamesaves thing that lets people trade gamesaves over the computer I guess. Anyone used this? I don't know if it is worth it since I couldn't find any game saves for this game, but would be good for the future. Here is a link to it

It sounds like the same thing as the sharkport for PS2, which I have. There's a cable that connects a USB port on your PC to the USB port on the PS2. It loads the games right onto your memory card. I would imagine that this version would be a bit easier cause there's no way (that I know of) to connect a PC to a GC. There's probably some adapter cable that has USB on one end, and a port for a GC memory card on the other.

I wish they had those gamesave exchanges around when Eternal Darkness came out. I did the same thing you did on that game. I was pretty far along, all of a sudden I hit something and was in a dialog that said "Delete all saved games?" Somehow I chose "Yes" and it deleted them all. I lost my temper, broke a controller, and ebayed the game the next day.

omg... i did the same sort of thing w/ the Sphinx (xbox version). the default position when you start the game is like "new game" and then goes to the "save here" which of course is my saved game. so not thinking, i just kept pressing the A button... are you sure you want to overwrite? yeah yeah... A button... wait... what?

i was pretty far into the game too... i haven't touched it since then.

Yeah....you did check to see if you saves were still there, right? that was one of the sanity effects the game did. Saying your saves were erased.

you can zip thru the game pretty quick if you don't waste your time collecting ankh pieces or collecting all the animals

Groucho, one day you are going to lose a saved game or maybe a whole memory card of data. I want to be there that day.

I lost my whole Xbox hard drive last year, so if you have a time machine you can go back and see me cry.

I lost my HDD 6 weeks ago due to XBOX repair services.

I've suddenly lost interest in playing games because I feel like I lost a part of my life.

Like going to school and losing your degree.
