Everquest - Anyone still playing it?
A few years ago, I played EQ quite a lot for about 2 months. I got to lvl 22 (Half-Elf Ranger) and then one day, just dropped it (like a bad habit -
)
Anyway, that was over 3 years ago. About a week ago, I just thought "I should play it again". I've been playing for about 4-5 days and wondered where everyone went. So, anyone here still playing? I'm on the Solusek Ro server and my name is Paerien, if anyone wants to say "hi".

I played daoc again for a while not to long ago, but I got to 45 and quit. I only really liked PVP, so I don't think I would like everquest. I just can't take the leveling. I might try WOW when it comes out.

Same here. Loved DAoC for the PvP. Haven't played for a while now but I'm thinking about re-activating my account next week, when New Frontiers is released. All new PvP zones and RA's...sounds good to me.

Well, I've never played the game (beyond a week or two - and eventualy discovering that I hate it), I do have 4 or 5 friends (and a couple of co-workers) who were hard core EQ'ers. Over the last month or so, they have all quit the game and jumped ship over to City of Heroes.

I also quit for three years (with my Druid at 52, and my Monk at 42, on the Nameless).
Picked up Evolution about 2 months ago, played a bit, then was able to get my characters restored, and have been playing since (Monk's 53 now, and Druid's 52). Much more fun than it used to be, partly due to loss of many timesinks, partly due to the fact I don't take it so seriously.
I don't really know anyone anymore, everyone I played with either quit, or we've forgotten each other.
I still find it overly addictive.

Yes, they stopped trying to buy it with fake $$$ after the first few arrests.
Seriously though, Verant has been pumping out expansions like no tomorrow and they still change up the game in little ways. I think in the latest expansion, people who organized raids were granted special abilities as a result from their hard work.

People sell accounts and platinums with very few problems now. I think SoE realized that with so many people leaving that it was simpler to allow this than try to control it. We have at least 2-3 on our server who buy high end accounts and resell for money or platinum in game which they then sell for real money. There are also people who do server transfers/trades of accounts/platinums.
Personnally, once I will leave, I am going to sell all my equipment and sell the money for real money. My caracter has near 130 real time days played (because I never log him off) so if I can make 300-400$ from his equipment, it still just amounts to maybe making .25-.50 cents an hour.
