From: Sonoran Desert; a place where it doesn't matter whether or not one can pronounce Donnacha.
After my free trial, I cancelled my account.
As many others have already noted, there seems to be way too many people on there who take it way too seriously. I'm just a casual gamer, I don't want to live on XBox Live like so many seem to do.

In racing games, if at a point you are winning, others will just drop the race. Even in games where I wasn't winning people would just drop out for no reason. Almost everyone's mentality seemed to be wrapped around competition and winning rather than having fun.

Crimson Sky was sometimes fun....I think an all-out battle style of gameplay (hopefully with no cheaters) is the funnest.

People still play online, though it appears there is a temporary backlash to the announcement of no further DLC for it. It'll pass and people will be back. Yesterday I had no problems finding rounds. My suggestion to you is to create a match, most people look for them while only a small subset seem to create them.

is there a website or anything that rates games on their online ability and/or how many people at the time are playing a game online. I don't want to rent or buy a game that no one plays online, or its just too hard to get a frequent game going.

I rented ESPN baseball but of course the disc was scratched to hell and didnt work.

Crimson Skies is my favorite... you can usually find a competitive game, at least in Dogfight.

If you go to xbox.com and poke around they have the list of top 20 games being played on xbox live. Just pick up a few in the top 10 and you'll have no problem finding games.

I wish there could be some sort of age filter.

I play a lot of Star Wars Jedi Academy.

It seems like tons of kids less then 15 playing. The mouths on them is awful too.. Tons of swear words and not to mention whining when they get killed and calling you all kinds of names when you kill them.

My favorite complaint about the game, though don't get me wrong it is a fun game.

You can have Jedi powers and use them or there are weapons that you can use as well. Some people just use the light sabers to kill people.
I get people that complain and curse when you kill them with a weapon. I just keep telling them, join a game that is light sabers only and no other weapons. Or they complain about using Jedi powers. There is an option to pick games with no Jedi powers.

And the mentality of the people too. I was playing one night, and there was a guy, sounded around my age mid 20's to early 30's and was complaining because I killed him using guns and a rocket launcher. He was just content using the light sabers. So, I told him that he was free to join a light saber only game if he didn't like the weapons. His brilliant response "Thats true, forgot about that. But nah, I'll just keep killing you only on principle."

There were 7 other people(2 teams of 4). Its a fun distraction after work, but sometimes people like that just ruin it.

But still, I recommend the game. I don't even play the single player mission, just online.

If you think you're having a blast now, wait until you get into a game of cat and mouse.

Cat and mouse is some good, clean fun and a great reason to hop onto PGR.

Vryce we gotta hook up online.

I play this game a lot online and here's where I've found the biggest snobs, geeks, and clansmen. I guess because it's Star Wars I have to expect "hardcore fanboys" in the rooms.

Personally, I've found the young kids easier to play online because many of them are willing to show you fighting moves to help you improve your character. They're also less likely to boot you out. It's the older hardcore bastards that seem to only want a certain level of player in the room and they love to boot people out. It's all about fun but they take it way too serious.

Usually 8 players 4 teams of 2. Each team consists of one ultimate and one cooper (or whatver slower car everyone agrees on). The idea of the game is to get your mouse (cooper) across the finish line before the other 3. Everything is pretty much fair game in C&M though some people have rule varients like only the lead mouse may be hit and so on.

Copey will probably do a better job than myself. Cat & mouse consists of teams facing off against each other. Teams are composed of 2 people/cars; one being the mouse, the other the cat. The mouse is a slower car (like a Mini Cooper) and the cat is a fast car. Teams are differentiated by car color. The point of the game is to get your team's mouse across the finish line first. So, the cats do whatever they can to help out their mouse and impede the progress of the other mice.

edit: Beaten by a minute

Good is relative, it's about having fun. And you will have fun in this game.

Sure.. Add me to your friends list. It would be nice to actually play with someone decent.

I didn't mean to say that all kids that play the game are bad, in fact there is one 10 year old kid that seems to join the games I'm in a lot. He doesn't swear and is pretty cool while he plays. He never is quiet, but at least its about how to do things in games, he's learning too, or general type stuff.

I've joined games before with a bunch of kids dicking around and they scream at you "join the other team" and if I join the opposite team "don't kill us, we're trying something" and then of course I kill one of them and the host boots me.

I'll probably be playing some tonight. Haven't gotten a game in a few days so it will be a good change from tv watching for a bit.

Soon as you get over 4 racers in a room you get the grid outlines of the cars instead of the whole car (think vector gaphics). My major knock about the online aspect of RC2 is that you can only talk to the racer directly infront of and behind you. So if you're in 7th you can only talk to 6 and 8. Other than that it is pretty solid online. I've had fun with the few races I have taken part in.

It is a different breed than PGR2 as you have no "street" racing at all. If I were to choose between the two I think PGR2 is more emjoyable online, YMMV, but I think both are worth a spin.

I haven't touched my XBL account in months. I played Rainbow Six for hours a day when it first came out, but I slowly got turned off because it seems everybody you meet is an *******. Either they start singing into their mic, or they are racists, etc (On two occasions I've seen players take BONG HITS while in the RB3 lobby room. or they are in clans and take things WAY too seriously. I'm not planning to "live" on XBL, just want to play a couple multiplayer games when I'm bored. Everyone's to concerned about their ranking or group. Do they even have fun anymore?

Imagine when Halo 2 comes out. So many people will be playing that online for the months to come, that I fear the industy will crash because no one will be buying anything else

Feel free to add myself and my buddy (Gamer tag: Propaganda) to your friends list. We play lots of Pandora Tomorrow butg don't really care about rank. We mostly just want fun games that aren't deathmatches and quitter-fests. We definitely don't take it too seriously.
