Disgaea, La Pucelle, and Culdcept Questions
I went ahead and grabbed La Pucelle: Tactics while it was still available since I enjoyed playing Disgaea: Hour of Darkness a while back. I didn't get extremely far in Disgaea, maybe 10-15 hours, since I was distracted by a different game. My question is, should I go ahead and finish Disgaea, or should I play La Pucelle first? I know Disgaea is a sequel to La Pucelle, but I did not know how closely the storylines were related - if at all.
Also, has anyone here played Culdcept? If so, is it worth picking up before it becomes hard to find?

Was Culdcept created by the same people that did Disgaea and La Pucelle? I can't find any information about it. When was it released?

Culdcept is a great game! good mix of "MAGIC The Gathering" with Monopoly. It came out first for the Sega Saturn and then spawned a remix port for PS1
Culdcept 2 I own for the Dreamcast and in japan Featured ONLINE Play. Then once again spawned a remix port for the PS2.
Us Americans got that remix PS2 port. Now if I only could get my friends to play.

After reading this thread I decided to go out and look for Culdcept. I got a copy at EB for 12.99. Its actually brand new, as it still has the security sticker across the top, unbroken, but they were selling it for a preowned price. The guy had just recieved it in a shipment from the home office... he opened the box right in front of me.
I'm very happy, I was expecting to have a hell of a time finding it.

I wouldn't expect to necessarily. I think I got very lucky. He literally got the shipment in an hour before I arrived. EB didn't even have the game listed on the website when last I checked. But it may be worth calling around. Or, if you have some good karma built up, just stop by and check one out.

I picked up the last 'used' copy of this at EB today for 13.99 as well. Haven't had a chance to play it yet. On a side note, they were still selling new copies for 39.99, which I found humorous.

I played this a little today, and really dug it. I wish I didn't have work tonight, or I'd probably play it all through the night. Looks like an addicting little gem. Thanks to Jtnguyen12 for letting everyone know about the sweet EB sale!

it gets hard quick though, imo. there are so many cards that i'm dazzled. i'm on the 4th(?) battle agains the 2 others and i keep losing.
just one question... how the heck do you defeat a Sprite? every attack seems to be neutralized.

I think the sprite only neutralizes attacks of creatures with more than 40 MHP (maximum hit points). So use a card with less hp than that.
I, too, have to thank the originator of this post, since without it, I would've never picked up Culcept... I got it for 12.99, but it was an actually used copy, but I don't mind... great game!

Just to give a little back to the people who helped addict me to Culdcept...
I found La Pucelle Tactics for 20 bucks at Target today. I was surprised a few weeks ago because a bunch of Targets I've been to had this niche title in, but I'm even more surprised that they discounted it already. Not a red sticker, but it was the shelf price.

Concerning Culdcept:
I had no idea that this game was so big in Japan. Went to Suncoast yesterday to check out the manga (comics) section, and they had volume one of the translated-from-Japanese comic. I remember seeing the solicitation in Previews (based on the best-selling PS2 and Dreamcast games!) but ignoring them because I thought it was another Duel Monsters/Yugioh/Pokemon clone.
So again, thanks to this post for turning me on to a great, under-appreciated game. I've also noticed that the same EB that I got my used copy at for 12.99 has raised the used price back up to 19.99...
