my X-Box don't work

My X-box broke some time ago and maybe one of you guys knows what it is. when you try to turn it on the round green light on the front(surrounding the open/close button i believe) it just flashes red and the machine turns on and off over and over again.

Any help?

Hey, man. Same thing happened to mine. In fact, I recently wrote a similar response a few threads down. I don't know how long you've owned your machine (mine broke within about three months of my getting it), but you need to contact the XBox people immediately and try to get an error report established as soon as possible if you want any chance of their repairing it within the very limited warranty period.

Just out of curiosity, did yours start corrupting all your save files? That's what happened to me.

Best of luck,

Brett

This is interesting... about 2 weeks ago, my saved file for Project Gotham 2 was "corrupted". I had just played the game a few hours earlier and it was fine but later that day, I got an error message that said my profile was broken.

Even though my Xbox has been working fine before and since then, your experience has me a little concerned....

Mine did the same thing. At first it would just freeze during games. Then last week I tried to put in Crimson Skies and the light just flashed red. Then an error message came on the screen. There was a number 13 in the top left corner and an error message in English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Spanish. I called 800-4MY-XBOX and they said they would send me a box even though it was out of warranty. I just got an e-mail saying my Xbox had shipped. Whether they have fixed mine or sent a new one is yet to be seen.

Oh, the day before it broke, it said that my Top Spin save file was corrupted.

Yeah, all of this sounds very familiar. I can't recall the number on my screen, but the blinking red light, the save files that would become unexplainably corrupted--it sounds the same to me. Like I said, don't do what I did and think it's just a problem with the game, or something. Call XBox as soon as you can.

By the Way.....if Microsoft WON'T replace it for free, they said it was about $91 + TAX + SHIPPING! to replace a defective DVD drive....I laughed at him and said no thanks.

Mine was just one month over a year when I sent it back. MS replaced the dvd drive free of charge. Sent it in on a Monday and had it back on Thursday of the same week, no shit.

Not that I would spend the dough either, but some people would rather do this than lose all their save game info. Or music on the HD.
