Spiderman 2 for PC

Ok, I got the Spiderman deluxe edition DVD today and there's a demo for the Spiderman 2 video game on disc 3. I'm not sure if this is just an early version of the game or what, but so far the game is pretty damn terrible.

First off, the graphics look like a PS1 game. There is very little detail to the textures, and everything is extremely blocky. I hope video options will only be available in the full retail game so you can at least bump the resolution up.

There also just doesn't seem to be a whole lot to the gameplay. Maybe I was expecting too much when they said it would be an open game like GTA or something, but this just seems boring so far.

Did anyone else install this yet? Thoughts?

Disappointing to hear. I've heard nothing but raves from the gaming mags about this. I'm hoping it's one of those botched, farmed-out jobs that just stink on the PC but are decent on at least one console (like NFS Hot Pursuit 2 or 007 Nightfire). The original was a pretty good game and this one's been in development ever since; I assume it has to be at least a little good.

Surprising to me, also. I heard the game was going to be great.

That is weird that the graphics suck... the graphics for the last Spiderman "movie" game were great on the PC and Xbox (where I played it).

I'm kind of surprised more people didn't know that the PC version was entirely different from the console versions. Activision announced it a long time ago and many sites announced it as well.

I think GamePro of all places said that the PC version would be different in last month's issue.

D'oh, didn't realize the PC one was going to be different. Talk about wasting resources.

Au contrair. I would rather have a PC version that sucks rather than having all the versions suck, no? It's a game that I'm really looking forward to.

The PC Spider-man 2 isn't the same as the console spider-man 2. They're different games. Don't fret about the spider-man 2 game. The console version will be AWEsome!
