Originally posted by Michael Corvin You must not have played many of the Zelda games. The jump to the N64 brought some changes with the move to 3D, but it was still push blocks, find keys, shoot switches etc. with less combat. Majora's Mask was the same gameplay wise as Ocarina, just a weird story and more "fetch" quests. Wind Waker wasn't that different from the N64 games IMO, just the sailing really, gameplay wise. The graphics don't make it play any differently. Don't get me wrong, I love all these games and I'll pick up the new one at launch. I'm just saying that sequels, even to series I love like Zelda, just don't excite me like they used to. I guess if you have more interest in games than I do right now, you can appreciate the little tweaks and minute new gamplay elements, but for me they just don't get me that excited anymore. |
I swear, some of you live just to whine. This isn't a list of "all games at E3", it's a list of the "BEST games at E3". Get it? It says nothing about the number of non-sequel or original games coming out. But logically, when it comes to quality, a sequel has a strong chance of being better since the developers have had lots of feedback about what works and can build on that.

Originally posted by Trigger I don't mind sequels at all - love em. I listed all the games I'm excited about as well as my top 10. I know nobody asked, but if I just waited around for people to ask me to post my opinions, I wouldn't be posting anything. Oh, you'd like that wouldn't you. -ptth- |

God Of War is shaping up quite nicely from what I've read. Too bad it's not due till early 2005.
One thing about sequels, I think alot of gamers aren't really that anxious to try something "new". They tend to gravitate toward a sequel because it's already familiar. I'm one of those people who likes to try something different every now and then. Like Josh said, it's better to have many hobbies not just gaming. You'll burn yourself out playing games constantly. |
I have too many hobbies... I spend more time on my hobbies than I do working... in fact, what I do for a living is one of my hobbies.

World of Warcraft is the only PC game in their top 10? How is the PC gaming market shaping up for next year?
|
don't forget Splinter Cell 3.
