I just downloaded the Paris booster pack for PGR2, $4.99.

DLC Pack 1: You want to know what's in it?
I'll keep this short and sweet. Here is the content:

New Cars

TVR Cerbera Speed 12 (DLC Verison) - Exactly the same as the retail version, only thing is you won't need all Platinums to get it. However, this model only comes in racing green so we can still tell who's beaten the game and who's downloaded their way to TVR heaven.

Ferrari 288 GTO - A fast, fast *fast* Ferrari. Absolute classic and still outperforms most sports cars these days.

BMW 645Ci - BMW's latest 6 series offering. It's big, but it's quick and has a very distinctive design.

Ferrari 365 GTS4 (Daytona) - Miami Vice. A 70's classic Ferrari. A definate for anyone who claims to know their Ferrari's.

Porsche 356A Carrera Speedster - The humble beginnings of the Boxster way back in the 50's.

Ferrari 250TR - Classic front engine Ferrari racer for the road. Another 50's offering, and amazingly quick considering it's age.

Chevrolet Corvette C6 - Brand new, straight from Chevrolet factories. Only announced 2 months ago, now available for you to drive, even before your car dealer gets to see one

BMW M3 CSL -The light-weight, lightning quick special M3. A track beast with a sensational engine and impeccable dynamics. This is one fun car.

New City

Yup, you guessed it. Paris .

From the Eiffel tower, to the Arc de Triomphe, you can now race through the streets of one of Europes oldest and incredibly beautiful cities. It's fast, it's pretty, but more importantly it's yours to hit with the fastest cars ever to hit the streets.


Pretty nice stuff, and well worth it. Also, they fixed the color glitch, and supposedly, did something with the names over the cars.

Did they straighten out the AI any?

AI was already pretty straight... except when they had to turn.

can you use these new cars in Xbox live games?

Did they finally eliminate the ability of wusses to use the gas and brake at the same time?

also, ToCA has been patched.

I guess I'll be spending $5 this evening.

Even though only about 10% of X-Box owners have Live - I feel like the only one that doesn't. I'm gonna have to wait for the eventual Official Xbox mag demo-disc down-load.

This is "premium" content - so it will most likely only be available in a future Exhibition volume.

Hmmm... Cool to hear.

I'm getting better at the game. Best I can do in most levels is a silver, I think. Its the middle option of the 5.

I guess I'll really need to get better to get all platinums and unlock all the cars and the tracks.

So far, I'm up to classics or sports coupe.

5 bucks - forget it. I'll wait. Being able to use them on Xbox Live sounds good, but I'm still getting through the single player experience. :)

Vryce - I'm a bit farther than you I think... IIRC, I'm up to the Super Cars with the Ferraris and the 911 Turbo etc. I have all Gold or Silver I think on everything up to this... I'm pretty much stuck right now cuz I refuse to accept the steel medal. Pfft.

Trigger: Some I had to go to the second medal to make it.
Some of the time trials are brutal. 2 laps of a long and whinding track in under 2:04... :eek:

And the ones where you need to come in at least 3rd, I swear the computer cheats at times. I've been in second place about 7 seconds behind the leader and 5 seconds ahead of the rest of the cars. I don't crash, or slow down much, but right near the end, all the cars catch up to me and I'm down to 7th place.

And the handling on some of the cars is awful. I make a turn and my car fishtails all over the place like its on ice.

Oh well.. its still a lot of fun. I've unlocked about 5 cars with tokens and have 14 tokens or so stored up.

Paying for download content is to me like paying for air at the gas station, water at a fast food place or sex (anywhere). It just seems wrong.

or 2 cups of coffee at starbucks... personally, it is worth it to drive around the eiffel tower in my M3 CSL, but it's a free (sort of) country.

If it were sold as an expansion pack, it would be $9.99 at Best Buy.

I'm thinking about it. Probably will due it when the Tour de France comes. ;)

Or when Copenhagen buys it and then we're forced to buy it so we can all race on it...

After you download the auto-update, you can test drive these cars in the showroom before you buy the content. Just go to the Xbox Live showrooms and have a look.

Ever since the patch was installed (not the Paris download), I haven't been able to use reverse gear. I use the automatic transmission. When I press x the backup lights come on but the car just sits there.

Don't know what to tell ya Tandem, mine works fine.

Although I'm a little underwhelmed by the Paris tracks. Not with the level of challenge, but with the detail. They just don't look as nice as the other cities. Maybe that's just Paris...

Worth the $4.99 though. Nice!

to go in reverse you just hold down the brake. after the brake does its job of bringing the car to a stop, continuing to hold down the brake makes the car go in reverese. that's how it's always been, IIRC.

I got the new paris download content last night. pretty good for just $5. The only complaint I have about it is that the cars in the paris booster pack class count as their own car class - & they are all unbalanced with each other WRT speed & handling. It would've been nice to have the new cars fit into the other established car classes, since I usually race in restricted car class game types. but then again, doing that may have affected the balance of the single player kudos world series experience, so I can see why they did it the way they did.

Gosh, I can't WAIT to see your jaggedy lagged @ss making your way down the Champs De Elysees. -rolleyes-
