Inverted feels completely natural only when I'm playing a flight sim. I have to use non-inverted for FPS games, though.

Originally posted by Jackskeleton I know if I learned how to play FPS with a stick I would most likely play inverted, but I was raised with a healthy amount of PC FPS so I play the real way.. Normal. |
and kept the mouse inverted |
Originally posted by mvc I use non-inverted, because you're not flying a plane! :P I use ESDF for my movement controls. Same here, I like my left hand fingers on the home keys. |
Inverted for flight games, non-inverted for fps. Don't know why, but it just feels right.
|
I've always used inverted. Started using it on flight sims and FPS on the PC. Feels more natural.
|
Non-inverted all the way...I never could play a game with the controls inverted.
|
I still don't get why this is so hard to understand.
Pull down on the stick in a flight sim - view goes up. Pull down on the stick in a FPS - view goes up. Is that really that weird? |

Inverted for me.

Inverted. I was never a big FPS fan, and I was used to aiming cursors in flight games. Thus when I started playing a few console FPS's it was easier for me to play with it inverted, as that's how I was used to aiming in flight games.
|
It's weird. Last generation I used inverted (turok, goldeneye, etc). But since Halo and MS introduced me to two analog, it was easier getting used to the controls non-inverted. So this generation non-inverted is the way to go.

Originally posted by jaeufraser I play all console FPS with inverted. It just feels natural. Though, oddly enough, when playing with mouse on a computer...I'll play non inverted. |
Inverted on both PC and console.
Other than changing whether the controls are inverted I usually don't change a thing and adapt to whatever the defaults are. This way I can learn the controls and be comfortable with them right away no matter where I am playing: my house, friends house, internet cafe, etc. -- fab |
Normal. Inverted makes me sick.
|
I think it started with xwing pc (since neither Wolf3d or doom required verticle control) but since then I've used inverted for everything that allows it including console games.
|
I use inverted, even though I've never played a flight sim in my life. I think it started with Jedi Knight (where I also picked up my habit of binding the space bar to "jump").
