Guess I'm dense as I don't really understand your question. I do have a liitle advice, though. If you're thinking of getting the Starter Kit, try to find one of those Madden Coupon books from BB. They have a coupon for $20 off the Starter kit, making it a very good deal, indeed.

sorry my problem is my xbox is ~12' from the couch.
I was thinking an extension cable would work for the headset but I dont think they make one.
I have a wireless controller now
So what is the best deal for me to get live and a wireless headset?
I could go with the xb-comm set in this thread but then I scrap my wireless (pelican) and still need to buy live.
I want to be ready for halo 2.

just came across this
http://shop.vendio.com/edgecellular/...l?s=1099130893
the Jabra for non-bluetooth 2.5mm phones for $59
too good to be true for a non-ebay solution?
what's that site where you can look up internet store's ratings?
i also saw a wireless controller at gamestop today that has a slot for the communicator on the actual controller, but since it has a cord from your ear to the controller it isn't completely wireless. It was $69.99
I'm waiting for that $99 one to come out so i can feel it, i usually hate 3rd party controllers because they feel cheap and the analog sticks suck ass. if they do suck i'll probably get the logitech wireless and the jabra. $99 (95 at BB with the giftcard) isn't that bad when you consider that the logitech solution will cost you $130.

How much 2.4ghz is possible? I have a Uniden 2.4ghz phone, Wireless B game adapter and am looking at the logitec controller and headset. Is this way too much 2.4ghz? Would the hip gear Bluetooth be any better?
Anyone using 2.4 phone, 802.11 and a controller?

picked the logitech headset up last week, also got the logitech wireless controller. I've been using a 802.11b, a panasonic 2.4Ghz cordless and the logitech contoller and headset combo all in the same room, havent had a single interference issue yet.
pretty good price here

while the headset is superb (except for the mute button), the controller is a piece of junk for some games and i can't understand why everyone here praises it so much. The analog sticks have almost no resistance, courses where'd i shoot under a 60 on outlaw golf, i would get over 80 with the logitech. i could live with that, but if you dont press the buttons all the way in, they don't register at all. I thought maybe mine was defective, so I returned it, same thing happened. While i never noticed it in halo 2 or golf, as soon as i put Street fighter 3 and CvS2 in, it's extremely noticeable and a pain in the ass. doing fast jabs into throws or things like blanka's electricity are nearly impossible to do accurately with it. I'm still keeping it as the combo is good for some games, i'll just use the wireless with the regular S controller for certain games.
also that $100 hip gear controller mentioned earlier has a cord on the headset that goes to the controller. for $100 and it's bluetooth claims, that's incredibly stupid and there are already controllers out there that do that. I was holding out until this thing came out to choose between this and the logitech, i didnt realize it had a cord at first.

So, I picked up the Logitech wireless headset today and was using it with my Logitech wireless controller. I got a continuous on-off interference between the two. My speaking icon in Halo 2 was just constantly on/off. I tried the headset with a wired controller and had no problems. Is there a way to change the channels that the controller or headset use?
It's getting really annoying, and this is like $160 worth of accessories from the same company -- why don't they work right together?

mine does that too, but it's just the icon. its not actually going on/off, its just saying theres some noise, then there isn't (if you listen when there's nothing going on you can hear a faint crackle, and this is probably what it's picking up). i had people tell me if i was breaking up and i wasn't but the icon was alwas flashing n/off

Anyone still using the Logitech? I really need to get a wireless headset and I can not find very much info on this one or any luck with the Jabra BT200.

Okay I got a setup that seems to be working pretty good. I got the Jabra BT200 (I got a good deal on this standard unit) and it is matched with their new A210 adapter for non bluetooth phones. I have use this a couple of times this week and it seems to work great with my wireless network, Logitech wireless controller and our 2.4ghz phone. It is nice to be completely wireless.

I saw an ad that Nyko now has a wireless headset that functions using 2.4 Ghz technology and has a 35' range. While their Speaker Com left much to be desired, this product might be OK (I love their corded Airflo 2 controller and still use it for long Live sessions). Not being Bluetooth, I'm hoping it's considerably cheaper than Logitech's one. No mention of the new product on their website and I can't find it on EB's either.
edit: I found it on Google. It's called The Nyko 81440 Wireless Headset for Xbox. Looks like it's already available and can be purchased for about $40 + shipping. I wonder if it's any good. The reviews of the Logitech's performance were brutal.

Here's one site that sells it.
