Anybody remember Scorched Earth?

Anybody remember Scorched Earth? I've been wanting to play that but every classic version of the is not compatible with Windows XP. Any suggestions?

I used to love this game. I would compare it to CS as:
1. It has a huge following (back in the 80s, Scorched Earth was a huge PC game)

2. You purchase weapons and precision is key in both games. Pretty much Vs. oriented.

3. Started off as freeware

It was such an awesome game and I would luv to play it online.

I remember it indeed - i particularly liked the weapon that exploded in the air and dropped a cone of dirt on their tank burying it to muck up their next few shots.

The closest thing to that game now is the series of games Worms.

Yeah, spent many an hour playing it. I ran across a copy of it on disc years later and tried playing it, but the processor was too fast and I couldn't control the trajectory of my weapons.

Scorched Earth was awesome. One of the first PC games I had. Simple, but really fun.

I think I spent more time customizing the taunts file than I did playing the game itself!

Great game, and as previous posters have said, a classic. I have yet to come across an updated copy anywhere (sorry to the original poster).

And the taunts file was great! Here's MIRV!

That game was a blast, played it all the time in highschool, on the school computers. That and that game where you're a monkey and throwing bannanas at another monkey that was a classic too...

Favorite weapon, was that one that bounced, and made huge holes each time it hit.. Quality. ha
