Originally posted by Derrich Doubtful. MS is a money machine. They can afford to bleed XBox losses for years and not feel it. They've never been great at game development and if you compare it to past experiences, the XBox is a huge hit for them in terms of hardware and mindshare. They've set themselves up so that Xbox Next will be able to compete toe to toe with the PS3. Sega on the otherhand, was grasping at straws every since the SegaCD failed. Out of 6 consoles, only 1 could be considered an outright success and that was the Genesis. They realized it was time to cut bait and get back to doing what they do best. D You must be new here. It was a joke. Obligatory response to Nintendo related posts, now applied ironically to a Microsoft one. No history on Sega or financial statement for Microsoft needed. Though, This does symbolize that despite Microsoft's deep pockets, they are not willing to just plug money into the XBox no matter what the loss. Cancelling/delaying popular franchises is evident of that. |
