anyone else thinking about getting 'the suffering'? please weigh in here!

i usually wait until the price goes down on games that i'm iterested in but this one has me very intrigued. thinking about buying it (ps2 version); so far it looks as if ebgames and gamestop have the best identical deal...49.99 plus the midway classic arcade disc as a bonus. oh, and free shipping too.

so is anybody else going to invest in this one? the trailer looks pretty amazing and i know from another thread that people have given the demo a positive response.

it looks as if you can switch between 1st and 3rd person like last metal gear game, is that true? or are there just certain sequences that go into 1st person mode?

As with all games that interest me, I'll get it when it's available for $10-$15.

No, that is too big of a freebie with a reserve. Usually with any game that gives away that big of a gift, the game is going to suck... the only exception I can think of is Wind Waker.

The xbox demo was really good... better than what I experienced at last year's e3. I'm gonna pick it up used for sure cuz I don't really buy new games anymore. It is on my list though. Midway classic arcade is not.

I'll be picking this up. The demo gave me the creeps and that's pretty hard to do.

Hmmm I'm really tempted to pick this one up. Really enjoyed the demo for X-box; creepy atmosphere, cool creatures and you can switch from 1st person view to 3rd person view whenever you want.

well, i went ahead and ordered it. i couldn't resist. its been a long time since i've paid full price for a game so i hope it won't dissapoint me. i've even put off buying re outbreak and that's the only series that i willing pay msrp, however the online play doesn't really interest me.

it'll be a while until i get it in the mail so i'm sure more reviews will start surfacing. if it does suck, i'll send it back unopened.

I am definitely buying it. I can't name another recent demo that I played & finished three times. I will be getting the Xbox version. I thought about doing the Midway deal but I was hoping for 10 bucks off somewhere.

I did not see any sales on it in yesterday's paper. Anyone know of any going on besides the Midway deal? I may wait until the new sale papers come out this weekend to see if someone puts it on sale.

I am buying it blindly. I have seen a few pics and read a little about it, sounds cool. I mainly preordered it for Midway Classic deal. I figure, this game has to be worth $30.

Looks kind of interesting, but I don't really like survival horror so I doubt I'll pick it up.

From what I have read, its more of a action game, than most survivival horror games (Resident Evil, Silent Hill).

Cool, I'll keep an eye on the reviews. If it's something like Eternal Darkness, I'll at least rent it. If it's more action oriented that that (i.e. DMC-ish) i'll still pass.

that's what sold me. getting two games for $49.99 seems like a decent deal. i've wanted midway arcade treasures anyway, so it works out pretty well.

check out the long trailer for the game:

Anyone here order from EBGames and not have it ship on 3/08? I ordered like 3 weeks ago and it hasn't shipped.

I guess I will give ebgames.com a call when I get home, since my order still hasn't shipped.

Mine hasn't shipped either and I ordered it on 2/11. I called ebgames.com and the rep told me they haven't received their shipment yet. funny how their b&m's have it but their warehouse doesn't.

Yep, next week. I love games that scare the crap out of me, and this one sure looks like it will.

Well, guess what awaited me at my door when I got home from work? I guess Ebgames.com just didn't update their site to show that they shipped it yesterday. First time this has ever happened. So I am guessing anyone else who shows their order hasn't shipped, expect otherwise.

One other thing to note, I noticed the shipping label was different from usual. It had the typical EBGames.com shipping label, but included at the top of the return address was an individuals name, and it also showed the price paid for shipping. I think maybe they had some sort of a problem sending them out through their usual warehouse or method.

Oh, and the Midway Classics game has this huge "PROMOTIONAL COPY - NOT FOR RESALE" Red tag printed on the front cover.
