Originally posted by Erillian I completely forgot about Sam and Max Hit the Road until reading this. You guys are taking me in my way back machine here. I think a friend lent me a copy or something when I was younger because I don't have it now. But....now I want it again! Where could I buy this game for the PC? Any suggestions? I checked out Ebay but there was only one copy available. I guess I want what is called the "talkie" version too right? Anyway thanks in advance for your help. The one on ebay is on 3.5 floppy which would not be the talkie version. I have the cd version which is the talkie edition. :) |
Originally posted by Breakfast with Girls I'm considering just buying the disc by itself, screw the preorder. :D |

Found this, but I know some of you are boycotting LucasArts so maybe I shouldn't post but here it is.........
Adventure Pack Maybe if I can't find that preorder box this will be the way to go. |
Originally posted by glassdragon You can't buy it by itself is the problem.. It is IN the preorder box for Armed and Dangerous.. (you don't have to actually buy armed and dangerous) and it's like paying 10 bucks for sam and max Armed & Dangerous is already out anyway, and apparently the disc had an audio flaw which cuts off all the speech after a certain point. SamandMax.net has the game executable by itself on their site that allows Hit the Road to be run on current operating systems. |

I just replayed Sam And Max the other night using the ScummVM program. I cant believe I remembered how to beat sam and Max in 3 hours. Loved it! Now I am starting Day of the Tentacle Again. Bernard to the rescue!!!!!

Day of the Tentacle was such an awesome game! I also loved the sequel, Mainiac Mansion. I need to relook over some of my old classic Lucas Arts games. They were so much fun.
I also just signed the Sam and Max petition, I was 18,300 something. It's obvious people want this game. |
Thanks to the original poster of this thread.....not only did I get out my "talkie" version of Sam and Max....I installed the sound update and sat down by myself at first....then my three little ones sat down with me and had a blast!!! What a fun game!!!
What the heck is Lucas thinking? They made some of the best or the best games out there!!! This led to me installing my Xwing Collector's cd and after some tweaking with the VDMSOUND software....I got the game to work!!! Now I just need to find my joystick. Looking forward to Tie Fighter and all of the other ones I posted earlier in this thread. :) |
I freaking loved Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Islands, Sam and Max, Full Throttle, The Dig, and Grim Fandango. At one point they were my all-time favorite developer. Sierra was the shit back in the day too.
Both companies pretty much suck ass now. |
Just configured my Xwing Cd disc to run under Windows XP!!!! Who needs DOS???? :)
