They are making a 'Far Cry' movie.

That alone, doesn't sound too bad, until they mention who is producing/directing it. Uwe Boll, the guy who was responsible for the mess that was 'House of the Dead', and the upcoming 'Bloodrayne' and 'Alone in the Dark' game to movie adaptations. Someone needs to put a stop to this guy! He is evil!

Yeah I don't understand it. Movies about games fail and games about movies fail.

It's usually "what comes first is great but what comes after blows."

So many filmmakers with potential out there can't even get movie made... yet Uwe Boll makes a horrible one that doesn't make jack shit and gets work out the wazoo..

Here's another warning sign...

Name checking a terrible movie (the recent version) during your pitch doesn't seem too smart.

However, these kinds of movies must be "bankable" to a degree. They have name recognition with teenagers, which gives them a guaranteed audience...STUPID PEOPLE (sorry teenagers ) who are obviously willing to pay money to see this stuff...

Those elements were present in the "The Island of Dr. Moreau" book. I don't think he's referencing the recent movie.

This guy is also doing the upcoming Fear Effect movie.

Does he have some sort of personal vendetta against video games or something and wants to make the public hate them by making awful movies or something? Listen to what he has to say about this movie:

"Fear Effect is a fantastic game with a dark story," said Boll. "I want to create an action film in the vein of Charlie's Angels but portray its sexy heroines, Hana and Rain, in a much edgier fashion."

So basically he's taking what made the game appealing in the first place, throwing all of it out, and replacing it with stupidity. LOL, should be good for a laugh.

how the hell is he doing so many movies? Isn't there some sort of approval process?

Is the game even out yet? Shouldn't they wait until the game is atleast sucessful to decide to make a movie based on it?

Obviously he can't keep up his current rate of films by waiting for the games to be released. By the time Far Cry charts he'll be halfway through filming "Duke Nukem Fo' Real" and "The Gordon Freeman Chronicles".
