Wireless controller for X-Box?

I'm interested in purchasing a wireless controller for X-Box. Do they work? Which one is best? What's the range?

The Cosmo controller will run a little over $50 w/ shipping.

The Eclipse was on sale at BestBuy recently, and with the gamer coupon, I picked it up for $25.

From what I've read about the Cosmo, the only significant difference b/w it and the Eclips is the buttons don't have to be pushed down as hard on the Cosmo.

Logitech is way big, and Mad Katz pretty much sucks from what I've read.

I haven't really found more than the 4 i've listed.

i just tried ordering 2 cosmos and 1 airstyle ps2 controller and shipping was $30... kind of cost prohibitive.

i didn't know that eclipse was $25... that's a good price as i missed out on the costco dual-packs.

the eclipse also has additional black/white buttons which i've been told make them more useable for games that utilize them.

I've had the Mad Katz controller for about 6 months. I haven't had any faults with it. It seems to response without any lagging. I've played Halo to SW:KOTOR to Tiger Woods golf and had zero problems. I admit it eats batteries, but thats what rechargeable batteries are for. The only problem I have is when my hand gets sweaty, it gets kinda hard to control the left thumb pad because my thumb keeps slipping off. Other than that no problems. Maybe I got lucky with the controller.

I have the Logitech for the PS2, which looks just like the X-box version(except for button placement, of course) and I love it.

I think the moral of the story here is, that unless you're VERY picky about subtle little things, most of the 3rd party wireless controllers out there are pretty decent.

Go with what's cheap, has a size you like, and is asthetically pleasing to you.
Worst case scenario, it completely sucks out of the box, then return it or exchange it for another one (assuming you buy it from someplace that allows that)

I bought a wireless controller for all 3 systems and have yet to open any of them up!!
PS2 - Chameleon
Xbox - Eclipse
GCN - Wavebird platinum

I'm just being indecisive about them is all.
Not sure if i'm so happy about giving up the rumble on 2 of them.
But, considering the prices I got them all for, I should probably just open them up and hope for the best.
