Hmm, brings back memories. When I was around 6 or 7, my biggest obsession was a Final Fight arcade machine at a Luke's Burger near by. I'd ask my parents to take me once a week and would try to beat the game with a dollar each week. I always got so close, but always failed. Anyways, that Christmas they knew I wanted something related to video games, and I remember being in my room and overhearing them decide what console to get me..and the reason I love my father so dearly even though he's really annoying

Mother: Why don't we just buy him a Nintendo? That's what all the kids these days get...

Father: I don't want him playing those stupid games

By stupid games, he referred to the Nintendo mascots, so they bought me a Turbografx16 and a Sega Genesis...

Needless to say, I was in heaven with both Streets of Rage and Galaga 90.
