<---Sad then Happy Camper

I was planning on ordering Contra:SS today from www.walmart.com since it's been back in stock for about 3 weeks, of course when I check today it's OOS again, which makes me sad . But I'm quite happy though since I finally found a new copy of Fatal Frame for PS2 at a local Sam's Club today for $17.87. Also picked up Ninja Five-O there as well for $13.84. And to top it all off, I picked up Beyond Good and Evil for the Gamecube, $19.99 brand new at Gamecrazy, after seeing the thread here saying it was on sale there.

I actually didn't like the new contra. It lacked the simplicity of the old games IMO. with the 3 weapons you have all the time with two types of shots there was a lot more strategy involved.

Not to mention I missed getting an awesome gun, like the spread gun, and having to try like hell to stay alive so you didn't lose it.

After C:The Contra Adventure and Contra:Legacy of War, I can live with SS's lack of simplicity. Although being stuck with just the 3 weapons and no upgrades is annoying though, was always fun fighting over a power up when playing with someone else in the original Contra.

I enjoyed Contra: SS but i would have preferred a control scheme similar to Radiant Silvergun, which would have made the controls less busy during more hectic moments.

Actually I would've just preferred Radiant Silvergun on one of the current systems.. too few people go to play this masterpiece.

Isn't Radiant Silvergun the predecessor to Ikaruga?

Awesome game, that Ikaruga. I got ahold of a Japanese copy for the Dreamcast a few years ago and loved it (even though I still haven't made it past level four!). Can anyone elaborate on the differences between the Dreamcast version and the newer Gamecube version? I doubt I'll need both, but I'm just curious.

Weird...I just threadjacked a threadjack.
