Just curious. I've been browsing reviews looking, but haven't had much luck, possibly due to the fact that the term "shooter" has become all but synonymous with "first person shooter".

What I'm looking for is, in the case of a side scrolling shooter, something similar to Einhander for the PSX. In the case of a spaceship-type shooter, mt all time favorites were the Colony Wars series for the PSX.

Anything like that out there?

you can try gradius. R-Type final should be coming out soon, and i think there is going to be another well-reputed shooter coming out. but the name escapes me at the moment.

Mobile Light Force 2 isn't bad, but it scrolls vertically. The Gradius III and IV pack was a launch title, and I believe Gradius V comes out soon.

Battlestar Galactica is probably the closest shooter to Colony Wars.

I love that game. Cheap too. I think it's like 10 bucks at EB.

Anybody got any tips for Mission 7 on Battlestar Galactica. It's the one where you have to fly a Clylon Raider.

btw, the game that i was thinking of in my first post is actually a game for the xbox that may be coming out: xyanide (sp?)
