I got a Gamecube from my parents (with the Zelda bonus disc), and my friend really delivered with three games! (Super Smash Bros, Metroid Prime, and Zelda: The Wind Waker).
Now all I need is a memory card!

I got Final Fantasy X, just started playing and I absolutely love it. It's honestly been a year since I've really sat down with a game on my console and played for hours like this. I've had Xenosaga for a good 9 months, still haven't played. Guess I should start sometime.

I bought myself Mario Double Dash and a Platinum Wavebird with my Xmas bonus from work.
My wife was upset since DD was on my Xmas list, but I pointed out that I had a lot of games on my list, and what were the odds someone would get me DD?
Sure enough, my mother in law got me Double Dash. So I get to return it and pick something else from my list. I'll probably get Crimson Skies.

Yeah, my wife got the hint I left her and took advantage of the buy 2 EA get 1 free at KBToys.com a while back. I got:
SSX (XBOX) - Can't get into it so far
Return of the King (XBOX) - I have to finish TTT first
NCAA 2004 (XBOX) - SUCKS! Can they ever get the Purdue fight song?!? I can't play that freakin' game - what's the motivation of scoring when all I get is a generic fight song?!? It's on the Xbox - support custom soundtracks for cryin' out loud!
My parents got me:
GTA Double-Pack (XBOX)
Beyond Good and Evil (XBOX)
And today I bought myself some presents:
Activision Anthology (GBA)
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (XBOX)
Gekido Advance (GBA)
Damn I'm going to be busy...

I read this wrong the first time and had to read it again to realize that things had not gone horribly wrong over the holidays for you.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Purdue, but I remember reading about some strange things that EA had to get around to get fight songs. Some of the rights to these songs don't just belong to the universities. They sometimes have trouble buying the rights to the songs. IIRC, sometimes the screwed up songs are due to (for example) some family that won't sell to EA. BTW, go Dawgs!

Since I started this thread, I guess I should finalize my list with the junk I got on Christmas day.
For the PC I got Combat Mission II.
For the Xbox I got the Grand Theft Auto double pack.
I got a gift card to Hastings and I picked up used copies of Whacked for Xbox and Metroid Prime for $30.
Good times. Good times.

EA makes enough money, they can flip the bill for a fight song or two, especially for a team who finishes in the top 25 annually! I would rather put it on some completely different fight song altogether, because it makes it worse they use a generic song that tries to sound like the real one but isn't. I don't think I can even do this!
Like I said, the least they could have done was support custom soundtracks so I could put in the real fight song, Welcome to the Jungle, hell even Celine Dion - anything's better than what they have!
Oh yeah - Go Boilers!

PS2 Online Pack, with ATV Offroad 2 as pack in. Not generally my type of game, ie, I wouldn't pay 40 bucks for it new, but in this set, a bargain. Pretty fun too
With the Target gift cards from a previous thread I got myself:
memory card [duh]
FF-X
and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance as a co-op game. Our computers are hosed, so we can't play Diablo II. BG: DA is a *sweet* looking game, the water and depth effects are just nice to look it.
Also got a BB gift card, and Reward Zone certificate awaiting spendage. Not sure what I'm looking at getting; I haven't even started FFX yet. Maybe something action-oriented, GTA, Simpsons Hit and Run, etc. Or go old school and pick up some of the oldies and cheapies now [Spy Hunter maybe]. Although Disgaea is looking very tempting, but I can't work on 3 RPG/pseudoRPG games at one time.
