Does Madden have a "tutorial" mode?
I've never really gotten into sports. I understand the basic rules of most of the major games, but the nuances completely escape me.
I've played Madden with my roommates in college, but it was mostly just picking random plays and seeing if they worked. I just played someone in Madden 2003 at a party the other night, and won only because I'm better at playing video games than he was, not because I knew what I was doing.
So I was wondering if any of the current football games have anything like a tutorial mode. For example, the computer sets up a scenario and has you pick a play. Then it tells you if that was a good choice or not and why. Or just gives suggestions on what you should do in a given situation.
Maybe that's a little too complex for the game.
I just need some help

They have a button called "Ask Madden" where John will suggest a play for the given situation. You can use it on every play if you like.

Maybe they just assume that everyone knows the game, but I think it would be nice for sports games in general to have some sort of basic tutorial mode for the total n00bs.

madden has an in depth tutorial. you pick a play and madden will run you through everything. he'll point out what you should look for, what to watch out for, and how to execute the play. there's even a controller on the top of the screen that shows you what button to press at what time.
the best part is, after he runs the play, you get to run it. he'll even give you tips.
pick up madden 2004. its the absolute best football game ever made. very little to improve upon.
