I rented Manhunt last week. I thought it was a really well put together game. I also like the headset feature.
I have no problem with Rockstar making a game like this. I'm guessing they knew going into it that Manhunt would stir up some contreversey. And the do-gooders like Sen. Joe Lieberman would be complaining. I can hear that whiney deadpan Elmer Fudd on valium voice of his saying "they're marketing these games to children". Which is why they are advertising this game AFTER 11pm when kids are supposed to be in bed. I think if you're letting your kid play this game then you're not doing your job as a parent. I hear all the time "well my kid wants it , what am I supposed to do?". You say "No!". That's what a parent's job is! There's still these people in this country (especially in the Parents and Media Resource Center; I think that's what it's called) who are under the impression that ALL games are intended for kids. They are delusional if they honestly think that. They fail to realise that the gaming audience is now older and they want to play something with a little more teeth. Quite frankly I'm glad there are game companys like Rockstar that make more adult oriented games. I'm thinking there should be another rating for games that doesn't carry the stigma that the Ao rating carrys. Right now Ao (Adults-Only) is the equivalent of an X rating in movie terms. Alot of outlets won't touch it. Perhaps if that rating was changed to merely "A" it would remove the stigma somewhat from it. Or the rating "A" would be an addition to the current rating system. So the rating system would go; E= Everyone T= Teens M= Mature A= Recomended for Adult players Ao= Adults Only What do you guys think? |

Coming to Xbox?

I think it's a PS2 exclusive for now. But that can always change.

I almost bought it and headset this morning......

Does this work with any USB headset, or one in particular? Sorry, not too familiar with the headset thing. I *am* planning to pick up Karaoke Revolution with the headset sometime after the holiday. Should that headset work ok with Manhunt?

After watching the video it basically reminded me of games like Thrill Kill for PS1 (which I think was never released officially in the U.S. because of it's violent content) and Postal 2 for PC and even saw a few amusing moment...which was wrong. I did feel kinda awkward when he started to do the same things to police officers :\. Still seems a budget title but maybe it's because I'm used to PC graphics so much lately.
I liked the disclaimer at the end, "for educational purposes only". :p |
Just as a side note, that clip contained some HUGE SPOILERS! It practically gave away the whole ending.

Heads up, guys. Manhunt is coming to XBox next year. Enjoy it. It's an awesome game. You can read my opinion of it in a past Manhunt thread. Also, Rockstar is hoping to finally get Red Dead Revolver released, and is working on a game based on The Warriors. Sweet. |
