how to fix thomson drive on my xbox?

I bought my Xbox in March 2002. It has a Thomson drive. These days it's been giving me some problems here and there with some games. Games will freeze for a few seconds while the drive struggles to read a disc. Anyone have a link or instructions on how to open it up and fix it? Like a laser lens cleaning or tweaking or something like that?

I had a disc read problem on my PS2 several months ago. Opened it up, cleaned the lens, and it's worked fine since. I'm hoping I can do some kind of fix with the Xbox as well. I just need some instructions.

Should be a bunch of them on EBAY!

My first XBOX had the same issue. You can usually find those drives on EBAY!

Go to www.xbox-scene.com

They have a tutorials section on how to replace your dvd-rom drive.

You know - after reading all you have to do to get it replaced - I'd rather just buy another xbox for 179 bux.
